Om os
ViSSEVASSE is a Danish design and poster studio founded in 2013 by Dorthe Mathiesen and Karsten Noel, who have worked for the past 20 years in the combined field of fashion, production design and graphic design.
It all started with a poster of the Copenhagen bridge ‘Langebro’. Many posters of landmarks, iconic architecture and other motifs have since followed - all in a characteristic idiom and dusty colour palette says Dorthe Mathiesen, who draws the posters. Our posters have a Nordic approach, and have a deep love for the pure and simple graphic expression.
We see the posters striking a nostalgic chord with the audience, as they are reminded of the summer holidays of their childhood when they see the poster of the caravan in the Danish landscape – or of the skiing holiday in Norway when they see our interpretation of the snow-covered mountains,’ says Karsten Noel.
About Vee Speers
ViSSEVASSE is proud to present a unique collaboration with the internationally acclaimed photographer Vee Speers. The photos we have printed as posters comes from two unique series.
The series ’The Birthday Party’ is portrait photos of several children at an imaginary birthday party. The poetic photos are shot at eye level, drawing the viewer into the children’s world – a world that evokes conflicting emotions somewhere between fantasy and real life.
The series ’Thirteen’ tells the story of the transformation from girl to young woman.
The Australian photographer Vee Speers took photos of her youngest daughter during her thirteenth year.
We love the symbolism of the photos, which are a beautiful representation of the transformation that unfolds during the earliest teen years
About Dan Isaac Wallin
ViSSEVASSE poster studio has the privilege of presenting the work of the Swedish photographer Dan Isaac Wallin. In close collaboration with Wallin, we have reproduced a number of his photos of beautiful Nordic nature as posters.
The photos are all made using old-school Polaroid cameras, a technique that contributes to the unique dream-like expression in his pictures.
Afterwards, the exposed shots are processed in various ways. Long exposure times combined with heat and cold create a variety of unique expressions. Often, the process leads to striking and unexpected effects and colour outcomes, which bring about the special otherworldly feel that characterizes Wallin’s photos. None of the photos have been digitally processed.
