Both eclectic and refined, the bathrooms at our Summer Hill project are unique and reflects the owners lifestyle. Beach style, yet unequivocally elegant the floors feature encaustic concrete tiles paired with elongated white subway tiles. Aged brass taper by Brodware is featured as is a freestanding black bath and fittings and a custom made timber vanity.

Making the best use of existing spaces was the challenge in this project. The laundry has been placed in what once was a porte cochere, an open area with arched openings that provided an undercover place for the carriage to drop the owners at a side door, on its way through to the stables. This family home located in the Canberra suburb of Forde has been renovated. The brief for this home was contemporary Hamptons with a focus on detailed joinery, patterned tiles and a dark navy, white and soft grey palette. Hard finishes include Australian blackbutt timber, New Zealand wool carpet, brushed nickel fixtures, stone benchtops and accents of French navy for the joinery, tiles and interior walls. This Bathroom & Laundry was part of a home that had been used as a rental property for many years. Hatch Renovations was engaged for a complete renovation of the space and to capture a more classic style to the room. The layout of the existing Bathroom & Laundry worked well, so with the client’s budget in mind we were able to include a Freestanding Bath in place of an Inset Bath, install a nib wall between the Shower & Vanity to serve as a ledge in the Shower as well as allowing for the installation of a wider Vanity and include a Farmhouse-style Trough to Laundry. During the design consultation with the client we captured a classic Hamptons style via Shaker cabinet doors, porcelain tapware, half height brick bond Wall Tiles and Feature Floor Tiles. Hatch Renovations worked with the client through the entire Renovation process, from design to construction, to transform a Bathroom & Laundry with very basic inclusions to one that truly captured the brief set out by our client.
