Housing Industry Association - HIAA combination of bricks, cement sheet, copper and Colorbond combine harmoniously to produce a striking street appeal. Internally the layout follows the client's brief to maintain a level of privacy for multiple family members while also taking advantage of the view and north facing orientation. The level of detail and finish is exceptional throughout the home with the added complexity of incorporating building materials sourced from overseas.
The Hidden TouchThis is a hidden cat feeding and liter box area in the cabinetry of the laundry room. This is an excellent way to contain the smell and mess of a cat.
KitchenLab InteriorsCoconut Grove is Southwest of Miami beach near coral gables and south of downtown. It’s a very lush and charming neighborhood. It’s one of the oldest neighborhoods and is protected historically. It hugs the shoreline of Biscayne Bay. The 10,000sft project was originally built
17 years ago and was purchased as a vacation home. Prior to the renovation the owners could not get past all the brown. He sails and they have a big extended family with 6 kids in between them. The clients wanted a comfortable and causal vibe where nothing is too precious. They wanted to be able to sit on anything in a bathing suit. KitchenLab interiors used lots of linen and indoor/outdoor fabrics to ensure durability. Much of the house is outside with a covered logia.
The design doctor ordered the 1st prescription for the house- retooling but not gutting. The clients wanted to be living and functioning in the home by November 1st with permits the construction began in August. The KitchenLab Interiors (KLI) team began design in May so it was a tight timeline! KLI phased the project and did a partial renovation on all guest baths. They waited to do the master bath until May. The home includes 7 bathrooms + the master. All existing plumbing fixtures were Waterworks so KLI kept those along with some tile but brought in Tabarka tile. The designers wanted to bring in vintage hacienda Spanish with a small European influence- the opposite of Miami modern. One of the ways they were able to accomplish this was with terracotta flooring that has patina. KLI set out to create a boutique hotel where each bath is similar but different. Every detail was designed with the guest in mind- they even designed a place for suitcases.

Distinct Innovations Pty LtdBuilt on the beautiful Nepean River in Penrith overlooking the Blue Mountains. Capturing the water and mountain views were imperative as well as achieving a design that catered for the hot summers and cold winters in Western Sydney. Before we could embark on design, pre-lodgement meetings were held with the head of planning to discuss all the environmental constraints surrounding the property. The biggest issue was potential flooding. Engineering flood reports were prepared prior to designing so we could design the correct floor levels to avoid the property from future flood waters.
The design was created to capture as much of the winter sun as possible and blocking majority of the summer sun. This is an entertainer's home, with large easy flowing living spaces to provide the occupants with a certain casualness about the space but when you look in detail you will see the sophistication and quality finishes the owner was wanting to achieve.
Four Elements ConstructionThese clients were referred to us by some very nice past clients, and contacted us to share their vision of how they wanted to transform their home. With their input, we expanded their front entry and added a large covered front veranda. The exterior of the entire home was re-clad in bold blue premium siding with white trim, stone accents, and new windows and doors. The kitchen was expanded with beautiful custom cabinetry in white and seafoam green, including incorporating an old dining room buffet belonging to the family, creating a very unique feature. The rest of the main floor was also renovated, including new floors, new a railing to the second level, and a completely re-designed laundry area. We think the end result looks fantastic!
Chervin Kitchen & Bath Inc.This beautiful modern farmhouse kitchen is refreshing and playful, finished in a light blue paint, accented by white, geometric designs in the flooring and backsplash. Double stacked washer-dryer units are fit snugly within the galley cabinetry, and a pull-out drying rack sits centred on the back wall. The capacity of this productivity-driven space is accentuated by two pull-out laundry hampers and a large, white farmhouse sink. All in all, this is a sweet and stylish laundry room designed for ultimate functionality.
