Our clients had space for a small utility at the back of the house. A lovely little space, it even has space for a dog bed, which we get asked to do quite often. The sink is a Caple Butler sink and the tap is a Perrin and Rowe Armstrong Mixer tap with a pull-down rinse - very handy in a utility room.

This view highlights the more traditional elements of the utility room, where practicality is balanced with warmth. The fluted Belfast sink is dressed with a simple fabric curtain below, concealing storage while softening the joinery and echoing classic utility room design. Above, a cheerful floral wallpaper adds pattern and lightness, while a freestanding shelf with bespoke corbels introduces a furniture-like quality. Cabinetry is painted in Paint & Paper Library Pollen II and finished with Armac Martin Bakes pulls in aged brass. Ca’Pietra Marlborough Terracotta Arabesque tiles add texture and an earthy tone.

This view shows the full sink elevation, combining closed cabinetry with an open unit to the left, designed to accommodate baskets or a dog bed below. The open shelving and worktop detailing maintain a practical, utility-led layout while retaining the same material language as the kitchen, including oak accents finished in Rubio Monocoat White Oak and light work surfaces.

The boot room cabinetry is finished in Paper and Paint Library Stone IV, using shaker fronts with 45mm rails and stiles. A built-in bench incorporates open shoe storage below, with a v-groove timber back panel fitted with Corston Mews hooks in Antique Brass. Above, a solid oak shelf finished in Rubio Monocoat White Oak provides practical display and storage, tying in with the oak detailing used throughout the house.

A Caple modern sit-on Belfast sink is set into a 30mm HS Carrara quartz worktop, paired with a Perrin & Rowe deck-mounted Ionian tap with lever handles and rinse in aged brass. Shaker cabinetry in Stone IV offers generous closed storage, complemented by oak shelving above in Rubio Monocoat White Oak. Wall-mounted arm lights add task lighting, while Corston Kilburn Antique Brass handles and knobs are used consistently across doors and drawers.

Quand on se demande comment aménager une buanderie pratique sans sacrifier l’esthétique, la clé est de penser cet espace comme une vraie pièce du quotidien, et pas seulement comme un local technique. Ici, l’objectif était clair : créer une buanderie fonctionnelle, agréable à utiliser, et cohérente avec le reste du projet. La première réponse passe par l’optimisation du volume. Même dans une surface contenue, le mobilier sur mesure permet de tirer parti de chaque centimètre. Les meubles hauts offrent un maximum de rangement pour les produits, le linge ou les accessoires, tandis que les plans de travail en bois apportent une surface confortable pour plier, trier ou poser les paniers. L’implantation en U structure l’espace et facilite les gestes du quotidien. La question de la durabilité est essentielle dans une buanderie. Le choix de matériaux résistants à l’humidité et aux usages répétés est primordial. Ici, le plan de travail en bois massif est associé à une crédence carrelée colorée, facile d’entretien mais surtout pleine de caractère. Le sol en damier, aux teintes vert et terre cuite, donne immédiatement une identité forte à la pièce et transforme un espace utilitaire en lieu joyeux et assumé. L’éclairage et la couleur jouent aussi un rôle central. Les tons clairs des meubles évitent l’effet “placard”, tandis que les touches de couleur au sol et en crédence rythment l’espace. L’évier intégré permet de gérer les tâches plus techniques (lavage à la main, détachage) sans multiplier les déplacements. Finalement, bien aménager une buanderie, c’est trouver l’équilibre entre efficacité et plaisir d’usage. En la pensant avec autant d’attention qu’une cuisine ou une salle de bain, elle devient un espace fluide, organisé et agréable, parfaitement intégré à la vie de la maison.

In questo progetto d’interni situato a pochi metri dal mare abbiamo deciso di utilizzare uno stile mediterraneo contemporaneo attraverso la scelta di finiture artigianali come i pavimenti in terracotta o le piastrelle fatte a mano. L’uso di materiali naturali e prodotti artigianali si ripetono anche sul arredo scelto per questa casa come i mobili in legno, le decorazioni con oggetti tradizionali, le opere d’arte e le luminarie in ceramica, fatte ‘adhoc’ per questo progetto.
