ACM InteriorsThe formal living area in this Brooklyn brownstone once had an awful marble fireplace surround that didn't properly reflect the home's provenance. Sheetrock was peeled back to reveal the exposed brick chimney, we sourced a new mantel with dental molding from architectural salvage, and completed the surround with green marble tiles in an offset pattern. The chairs are Mid-Century Modern style and the love seat is custom-made in gray leather. Custom bookshelves and lower storage cabinets were also installed, overseen by antiqued-brass picture lights.

This contemporary-eclectic living room features cultural patterns, warm rustic woods, slab stone fireplace, vibrant artwork, and unique sculptures. The contrast between traditional wood accents and clean, tailored furnishings creates a surprising balance of urban design and country charm.

DANE AUSTIN INTERIOR DESIGN Boston & CambridgeA nostalgic but modern hue covers the walls and ceiling of the living room. The oil painting centered over the heirloom chevron settee offers a chance to pull color for a painterly palette. The ceiling fixture is made of twigs.

A love of blues and greens and a desire to feel connected to family were the key elements requested to be reflected in this home.

A. Klein Interior Design LLCThis is a small living room right off the entry to a larger home. The clients wanted this space to set the tone for the home as one that is sophisticated and fun. The simple clean lines of the sectional sofa allow the other pieces in the room to play starring roles.
