The kitchen as the heart of the house is a comfortable space not just for cooking but for everyday family life. Materials avoid bland white surfaces and create a positive haptic experience through robust materials and finishes.

For this project Miami based architectural and design firm Pepe Calderon created a see through fireplace using three EcoSmart Fire burners and toughened glass. The fireplace is set into the wall with marble surrounds, and features a hearth made from frosted glass backlit with ecofriendly LED lights and strips of stainless steel.
