eDEN Garden Rooms

For this project, our clients asked us to transform two underused attic rooms into highly functional and beautifully designed spaces: a dedicated home office and a versatile craft room with the flexibility to serve as an occasional guest bedroom. Our design vision focused on maximising every inch of available space, with bespoke cabinetry carefully tailored to the room’s unique architecture. Challenging features such as sloping ceilings, stairwell angles and distinctive roof lines were seamlessly integrated into the design, ensuring no space was wasted. Working alongside our trusted in-house trades, we brought the scheme to life with a range of thoughtfully considered bespoke details, including a built-in wrapping paper holder, pull-out drawers for sewing equipment and craft supplies, and a concealed pull-out printer shelf. The result is a pair of elegant, practical interiors that combine intelligent storage with timeless design—proving that even the most compact attic spaces can be transformed into something exceptional by Willow Grey Interiors.

The client’s brief was to create a mid-century themed office in a Grade II listed building in the City of London. Apart from fully redecorating the space with a new colour scheme, carpet, lighting and window dressing, we sourced mid-century design classics for our client and designed a bespoke freestanding wardrobe. In the client’s own words “it is a room to be enjoyed, and I do so on a daily basis, with the prospect of working within such a pleasant space providing an active incentive to make the trip to the office! All your choices -paint, colour, furniture and lighting fit seamlessly together.”

Ci sono criteri razionali da seguire quando si sceglie di ristrutturare senza sventrare completamente l’abitazione. La funzionalità dei locali, innanzitutto, ma anche il confort e la praticità. Il colore bianco predominante e il calore del legno di rovere, hanno definito l’estetica, lo stile dell’intera ristrutturazione. Boiserie e parquet sono stati preservati interamente cosi come in origine. Solo un accurato e minuzioso restyling di un capace artigiano, ha fatto sì che tutto ciò che la proprietà aveva richiesto, è stato adattato perfettamente ai nuovi spazi scelti. La riorganizzazione ha permesso l’ottenimento di allargare uno dei due bagni esistenti, creare spazi di “storage” lungo i corridoi/disimpegni, beneficiare di un openspace living/cucina di proporzioni notevoli, una camera in più, ma soprattutto laddove nessuno, compresi gli addetti ai lavori, poteva immaginare, un delizioso micro bagno turco “incastonato” in un lussuoso e lucido marmo che lo rende protagonista assoluto di tutta la ristrutturazione. Protagoniste sono anche le ampie pareti vetrate divisorie in stile industriale, che delimitano gli spazi senza chiudere le visuali, amplificandone così la dimensione già di per se ampia. Dietro la vetrata più grande si cela il locale pranzo e la cucina total white con sviluppo a ferro di cavallo, mentre l’altra parete vetrata più piccola, chiude il locale studio dedicato allo smart working, dove al suo interno sono state posizionate scrivania e libreria riadattate a misura. Sempre su misura sono tutte le armadiature lungo i corridoi e le mensole della parete/nicchia TV, cuore del living. Entrando, l’ospite viene avvolto dalla boiserie in legno di rovere integralmente tenuta come l’originale, volgendo lo sguardo a sinistra viene catturato dalle lampade Falkland, note anche come lampade-calza, disegnate da Bruno Munari nel 1964, se invece volge lo sguardo a destra, vede riflesse, grazie alla presenza di ampi specchi, le pareti vetrate in stile industriale realizzate a disegno. La zona giorno e la zona notte sono divise da una porta scorrevole a specchio, che volutamente inganna lo sguardo di chi la cerca, ma tutto questo è voluto anche perché solo grazie al bilanciamento delle forme, a dei piccoli stratagemmi e all’assemblaggio di oggetti di epoche diverse, ha permesso a noi progettisti di creare uno stile contemporaneo, grintoso e personale che ai proprietari è piaciuto talmente tanto che siamo pronte per ristrutturarne un’altra… ma questa sarà un’altra storia.

When a home office is needed but ‘utility’ is not the brief, a themed more relaxed vibe will still get the 'work’ done, but certainly not labour it!! Here we needed extra wardrobe space and storage, a sit down TV chill vignette and of course a desk … With a great degree of imagination this office was created as a super guys room that ticked all the boxes. When travelling is not on the cards we brought a touch of adventure 'in-house' - a Serengetti adventure.Grrrr. Shared study space

This project is the result of research and work lasting several months. This magnificent Haussmannian apartment will inspire you if you are looking for refined and original inspiration. Here the lights are decorative objects in their own right. Sometimes they take the form of a cloud in the children's room, delicate bubbles in the parents' or floating halos in the living rooms. The majestic kitchen completely hugs the long wall. It is a unique creation by eggersmann by Paul & Benjamin. A very important piece for the family, it has been designed both to allow them to meet and to welcome official invitations. The master bathroom is a work of art. There is a minimalist Italian stone shower. Wood gives the room a chic side without being too conspicuous. It is the same wood used for the construction of boats: solid, noble and above all waterproof.
