The owners wanted to reclaim the back yard as a garden and outdoor living area, add a garage and improve the service spaces that connected with these new amenities. The house now opens to a lovely dining terrace and garden. A new portico entry connects the exterior spaces to the breakfast area, mudroom and rear stairs.

For Dan’s front door, we recommended the installation of a fiberglass door by ProVia®. Dan appreciated that the new front door provided a look similar to wood, but did not require the upkeep. ProVia® fiberglass doors are built with reliable weather-stripping and an insulated core. Both components are critical in promoting energy efficiency.

Lovely front entrance with delft blue paint and brass accents. Front doors should say welcome and thank you for visiting, I think this does just that!

A welcoming entry area into this highly sophisticated home. The custom wood and tile patterned flooring creates interest and a focal point upon entering. The open ceiling and the glass surrounding the front door add light into this inviting space. Photography by Peter Rymwid.

Big country kitchen, over a herringbone pattern around the whole house. It was demolished a wall between the kitchen and living room to make the space opened. It was supported with loading beams.
