A deeply personal, Japanese-inspired home balancing public and private realms. A tea ceremony room and separate Airbnb anchor the street front overlooking a Japanese garden, while private living opens to parkland at the rear. Outdoor circulation embrace's Brisbane’s subtropical climate. Clever zoning, a music studio, and potting studio reflect the well-travelled, creative lives of its owners, eclectic in spatial brief and design.

This kitchen, part of the New England & Cape Cod–inspired home by Studio212 Ltd, is designed around both functionality and lifestyle. Expansive glazing includes a 4m sliding bar window opening directly onto the patio lounge beneath the louvred pergola, making entertaining effortless. The interior features bespoke cabinetry in soft grey, a large kitchen island with waterfall worktop and breakfast bar seating, and a full-height wall of concealed storage. A run of pendant lights above the island provides task illumination with sculptural elegance. The adjacent dining area sits beside the garden, with a stone-topped table and upholstered chairs that echo the island stools. Fresh flowers and natural light reinforce the connection to the outdoors, blending everyday practicality with a refined entertaining space.

A tired, small 1970's house was refurbished and extended to become a modern, light-filled, sunny family home. The original house didn't take advantage of its leafy, expansive site, so the extension pushed north and opened up to the sun and outdoors. Living areas flow onto spacious, sunny outdoor areas to the north, and a generous hallway flows through to a new pool and the mature, leafy trees of the neighbouring park. A strong, geometric form sits wide on the site and its pitched roof creates open, airy, light-filled interior spaces. High windows give glimpses of the sky and surrounding trees, and side windows provide a green, leafy outlook to the reserve next door. A muted but rich finishes palette and carefully designed cabinetry complement the lofty architecture. This busy young family can now live and thrive in their beautifully spacious, well-functioning home.

A modern U-shaped kitchen featuring handleless white cabinets with integrated natural wood detailing at the edges. The quartz countertops provide a durable and clean surface, while the backsplash seamlessly matches the countertop material. Large windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing its bright and airy atmosphere. The tiled floor in a subtle grey diamond pattern adds visual interest without overwhelming the minimalist design.

The second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.

Come organizzare un monolocale di soli 19 mq netti rendendo distinti e funzionali gli ambienti? In questo progetto abbiamo studiato la distribuzione degli spazi per separare visivamente le diverse zone della casa in base alla loro funzione, senza rinunciare alla sensazione di apertura e continuità. Dalla porta di ingresso si accede direttamente alla cucina, progettata per sfruttare al meglio lo spazio disponibile. Un elemento divisorio in rovere, che integra al suo interno un piccolo frigorifero e un pratico appendiabiti, crea una schermatura tra ingresso, cucina e zona notte, definendo le diverse funzioni senza appesantire l'ambiente. La zona letto è raccolta all'interno di un piccolo nido in tonalità blu e rovere, pensato per creare una sensazione di intimità e comfort all'interno della superficie ridotta. Anche l'ingresso è stato progettato nei minimi dettagli: una fascia di controsoffitto in rovere accompagna l'accesso all'appartamento e contribuisce a definire visivamente la zona di ingresso. Il progetto dimostra come, anche in un monolocale di 19 mq, una progettazione attenta della distribuzione, degli arredi e dei materiali possa permettere di organizzare cucina, ingresso e zona notte in modo funzionale, creando spazi distinti ma armoniosamente collegati.
