The kitchen was all designed to be integrated to the garden. The client made great emphasis to have the sink facing the garden so an L shaped kitchen was designed which also serves as kitchen bar. An enormous rooflight brings lots of light into the space.

This light and airy kitchen was painted in a Farrow and Ball green, with raised and fielded panels throughout . All the cupboards have adjustable shelves and all the drawers have a painted Farrow and Ball cock beaded face frame surround and are internally made of European oak set on hidden under mounted soft close runners. The island has a thick solid European oak worktop, while the rest of the worktops throughout the kitchen are green limestone with bull nosed edging and have a shaped upstand with a fine line inset detail just below the top. The main oven range is a Wolf with an extractor above it individually designed by Tim Wood with the motor set in the attic in a sound insulated box. Beside the large Sub-zero fridge/freezer there is a Gaggenau oven and Gaggenau steam oven. The two sinks are classic ceramic under mounted with a Maxmatic 5000 waste disposal in one of them, with Barber Wilsons nickel plated taps above. Designed, hand built and photographed by Tim Wood

deVOL Kitchens

The kitchen in this new build oak framed cottage was conceived to be light and informal - with a modern 'country' feel to reflect the village location. Craftsmanship and artisan detailing was important - to echo the handmade green oak frame structure of the house. Materials include oak worktops, quartz, limestone and rough Belgian linen. Lights were handmade in Herefordshire, Everhot supplied the oven and the kitchen units were made by DeVol Kitchens. Border Oak were responsible for the design and construction as well as the interior finishing and sourcing.

The upholstered bench seat in this classic style kitchen by McCarron & Co makes the most of the space and offers a practical and stylish seating solution.

Our client loved symmetry, balance, alignment, immaculate finish and perfect installation – the result, a really beautifully proportioned, highly detailed room of furniture that is a genuine pleasure to be in.

This period property was full of original features, not least the exposed wooden beams and posts, which needed to be incorporated into the design. It’s hard to decide which features stand out most - the central island, wrapped carefully around the wooden pillar; the original fireplace, now home to a range cooker and antique-finish mirrored splashback; the gorgeous dresser unit, with butler’s pantry and double door larder; or the fridge and wine rack cleverly fitted under the stairs. It was all finished with a Quooker boiling tap and hardware by Crofts & Assinder. The spacious utility was fitted with a dog shower for the clients’ two much-loved pets. A mixture of open shelving and floor-to-ceiling cabinets in this room allowed the client to maximise the storage space and we included a handy bench seat and coat hooks close to the back door - providing easy access after those wet dog walks! All projects require careful coordination between designer, project manager, builder, their trades, our fitter and, of course, the client, but none more so than this one - that this one went so smoothly is testament to the hard work and teamwork from everyone involved. This amazing kitchen and utility room formed part of a much larger, whole-house renovation, managed by Paul Butcher of JRB Building Ltd.

A striking contemporary kitchen designed by piqu and supplied by leading German kitchen manufacturer Ballerina. The beautiful cabinet doors are complimented perfectly with stone work surfaces and splashback in Caesarestone Airy Concrete. Siemens appliances and a black Quooker tap complete the effortlessly stylish look for this wonderful family kitchen extension in Beckenham.

This bespoke professional cook's kitchen features a custom copper and stainless steel La Cornue range cooker and extraction canopy, built to match the client's copper pans. Italian Black Basalt stone shelving lines the walls resting on Acero stone brackets, a detail repeated on bench seats in front of the windows between glazed crockery cabinets. The table was made in solid English oak with turned legs. The project’s special details include inset LED strip lighting rebated into the underside of the stone shelves, wired invisibly through the stone brackets.
