Standard KitchensUnique kitchen layout with cabinetry in two different finishes. Cabinetry is Darby Maple by Kemper and finished in "Palomino" and "Heirloom Oasis". This kitchen features a large L-shpaed island with integrated bench seat.
USI Design & Remodeling Walls once confining the kitchen are replaced with a sense of openness, seamlessly connecting the cooking space with the dining and living areas. The kitchen, now a focal point, boasts sleek cabinetry, complemented by modern hardware and luxurious countertops. A central island stands as both a functional workspace and a gathering spot for family and friends.
The transition from kitchen to dining and living areas is marked by carefully chosen flooring that unifies the space. Large windows flood the room with natural light, accentuating the bright and airy ambiance. Thoughtfully selected pendant lights and recessed fixtures illuminate the room, highlighting the exquisite details.
Stainless steel and panel-ready appliances, tastefully integrated, add a touch of contemporary flair to the transitional design. Our clients Claire and Brent cherished the character of their century-old worker's cottage but required more considered space and flexibility in their home. Claire and Brent are camping enthusiasts, and in response their house is a love letter to the outdoors: a rich, durable environment infused with the grounded ambience of being in nature.
From the street, the dark cladding of the sensitive rear extension echoes the existing cottage!s roofline, becoming a subtle shadow of the original house in both form and tone. As you move through the home, the double-height extension invites the climate and native landscaping inside at every turn. The light-bathed lounge, dining room and kitchen are anchored around, and seamlessly connected to, a versatile outdoor living area. A double-sided fireplace embedded into the house’s rear wall brings warmth and ambience to the lounge, and inspires a campfire atmosphere in the back yard.
Championing tactility and durability, the material palette features polished concrete floors, blackbutt timber joinery and concrete brick walls. Peach and sage tones are employed as accents throughout the lower level, and amplified upstairs where sage forms the tonal base for the moody main bedroom. An adjacent private deck creates an additional tether to the outdoors, and houses planters and trellises that will decorate the home’s exterior with greenery.
From the tactile and textured finishes of the interior to the surrounding Australian native garden that you just want to touch, the house encapsulates the feeling of being part of the outdoors; like Claire and Brent are camping at home. It is a tribute to Mother Nature, Weather House’s muse.
Rencraft LtdClean, simple, uncluttered. This elegant oak and hand-painted kitchen features an understated bevelled door detail which lends the room a classic, timeless style.
The layout flows around the central island which houses a built-in wine cooler and has a circular prep sink at one end balanced by a larger, circular solid oak dining area at the other. These curves complement the two arched doorways at the far end of the room, filling the space with light.
Plenty of storage has been provided thanks to a traditional larder with oak interiors and twin double-door butler cupboards.
Finishing touches include Miele appliances, quartz worktops with a profiled edge detail, a mirrored glass splashback and polished stainless steel handles.
O'Brien Harris LLCThis bright urban oasis is perfectly appointed with O'Brien Harris Cabinetry in Chicago's bespoke Chatham White Oak cabinetry. The scope of the project included a kitchen that is open to the great room and a bar. The open-concept design is perfect for entertaining. Countertops are Carrara marble, and the backsplash is a white subway tile, which keeps the palette light and bright. The kitchen is accented with polished nickel hardware. Niches were created for open shelving on the oven wall. A custom hood fabricated by O’Brien Harris with stainless banding creates a focal point in the space. Windows take up the entire back wall, which posed a storage challenge. The solution? Our kitchen designers extended the kitchen cabinetry into the great room to accommodate the family’s storage requirements. obrienharris.com

Studio DearbornA talented interior designer was ready for a complete redo of her 1980s style kitchen in Chappaqua. Although very spacious, she was looking for better storage and flow in the kitchen, so a smaller island with greater clearances were desired. Grey glazed cabinetry island balances the warm-toned cerused white oak perimeter cabinetry.
