Revive Home DesignThis kitchen design included the use of dark espresso cabinets with light quartz countertops to provide eye-catching contrast. Exotic acacia hardwood floors were used throughout as opposed to more traditional hardwoods to set this house apart. A slate and glass mix mosaic tile backsplash pulled it all together while adding color to the space.
The Artisans Group, Inc.Winner of the 2018 Tour of Homes Best Remodel, this whole house re-design of a 1963 Bennet & Johnson mid-century raised ranch home is a beautiful example of the magic we can weave through the application of more sustainable modern design principles to existing spaces.
We worked closely with our client on extensive updates to create a modernized MCM gem.
Extensive alterations include:
- a completely redesigned floor plan to promote a more intuitive flow throughout
- vaulted the ceilings over the great room to create an amazing entrance and feeling of inspired openness
- redesigned entry and driveway to be more inviting and welcoming as well as to experientially set the mid-century modern stage
- the removal of a visually disruptive load bearing central wall and chimney system that formerly partitioned the homes’ entry, dining, kitchen and living rooms from each other
- added clerestory windows above the new kitchen to accentuate the new vaulted ceiling line and create a greater visual continuation of indoor to outdoor space
- drastically increased the access to natural light by increasing window sizes and opening up the floor plan
- placed natural wood elements throughout to provide a calming palette and cohesive Pacific Northwest feel
- incorporated Universal Design principles to make the home Aging In Place ready with wide hallways and accessible spaces, including single-floor living if needed
- moved and completely redesigned the stairway to work for the home’s occupants and be a part of the cohesive design aesthetic
- mixed custom tile layouts with more traditional tiling to create fun and playful visual experiences
- custom designed and sourced MCM specific elements such as the entry screen, cabinetry and lighting
- development of the downstairs for potential future use by an assisted living caretaker
- energy efficiency upgrades seamlessly woven in with much improved insulation, ductless mini splits and solar gain
Alair Homes PlanoThis couple moved to Plano to be closer to their kids and grandchildren. When they purchased the home, they knew that the kitchen would have to be improved as they love to cook and gather as a family. The storage and prep space was not working for them and the old stove had to go! They loved the gas range that they had in their previous home and wanted to have that range again. We began this remodel by removing a wall in the butlers pantry to create a more open space. We tore out the old cabinets and soffit and replaced them with cherry Kraftmaid cabinets all the way to the ceiling. The cabinets were designed to house tons of deep drawers for ease of access and storage. We combined the once separated laundry and utility office space into one large laundry area with storage galore. Their new kitchen and laundry space is now super functional and blends with the adjacent family room.

Meyer DesignThis butler's pantry is a great walk-thru area for the kitchen and dining room. The black cabinets are a great contrast to the white cabinets in the main kitchen. There are black cabinets in the pantry to complete the look.

Cabinet Sales PlusOur client requested a clean, sophisticated style with a modern flare. We took a classic shaker door in a dark wood tone added fluted glass doors, quartz counters that mimic concrete counters and lots of stainless steel accents that touch on the grey tones in the mosaic tile to create the look they wanted.
BedfordBrooks Design Inc.Getting creative with IKEA cabinets can be a challenge. We made these big-box standard items look custom with some smart planning and by adding gorgeous brushed antique English brass hardware.
