Higham FurnitureLocated behind the dining area, the tall larder cabinet features pocket doors that fold neatly back into the carcass, allowing the interior to remain fully accessible when in use. Designed as a dedicated breakfast and coffee station, it provides appliance space within a concealed run, with integrated fridge and freezer columns positioned on either side. Painted in a Vert de Terre colour-match, with Corston Kilburn Antique Brass handles maintaining continuity throughout.
Making SpacesThe Project: Reconfiguration of ground floor kitchen/diner and second floor master suite in a large, four storey Victorian Villa in Conservation Area.

Clear View Tech LtdA clean, functional space that offers an elegant and relaxing dining setting for evening dinners and entertaining. Open room ends and a full-height opening to the garden invite in natural light and greenery, creating a calm, restorative atmosphere—perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.
Coda WorkshopThis renovation and extension transforms a mid-19th-century Schoolmaster’s House, originally designed by Gothic Revival architect William Butterfield. Built in the 1850s as part of Archdeacon John Sandford’s educational initiative, the building showcases Butterfield’s hallmark use of polychrome brickwork and crafted detail.
Research supported by the Alvechurch Historical Society, The Bromsgrove Society, and the Hive Archives – together with the discovery of original drawings – revealed the building’s original fabric and informed our design strategy.
The scheme balances historic sensitivity with contemporary living. Unsympathetic late-20th-century alterations were removed to restore clarity, while new interventions create light, proportion, and connection to the garden. The extension draws inspiration from Butterfield’s brick patterns, its distinct yet referential form enhanced by a frameless corner window.
At the centre of the design, the former courtyard becomes the heart of the home. Original brickwork and an arched door are revealed, their patina preserved, with natural stone flooring referencing the historic surface. Elsewhere, a historic entrance has been reinstated, and a brick arch within the chimney exposed, now closed with weathered copper.
High-performance insulation and triple glazing improve comfort and energy efficiency. The result is both restoration and reinvention – a respectful dialogue between past and present, creating a home rooted in history and ready for the future.
Four Walls ArchitectureA tired, small 1970's house was refurbished and extended to become a modern, light-filled, sunny family home. The original house didn't take advantage of its leafy, expansive site, so the extension pushed north and opened up to the sun and outdoors. Living areas flow onto spacious, sunny outdoor areas to the north, and a generous hallway flows through to a new pool and the mature, leafy trees of the neighbouring park.
A strong, geometric form sits wide on the site and its pitched roof creates open, airy, light-filled interior spaces. High windows give glimpses of the sky and surrounding trees, and side windows provide a green, leafy outlook to the reserve next door. A muted but rich finishes palette and carefully designed cabinetry complement the lofty architecture. This busy young family can now live and thrive in their beautifully spacious, well-functioning home.
Imperfect InteriorsWe designed a built in banquette bench seat in the kitchen diner of our Herne Hill project, had it upholstered in a faux leather and added lots of scatter cushions as well as bamboo blinds for cosiness
Absolute Project ManagementStrip lighting was fitted into the ceiling joists on either side of the room to add light and warmth. The stunning bespoke oak handrail was coated in the same grey-tone stain as the wood flooring, as was the desk and alcove shelving, creating a cohesiveness in the space.
