What’s your sign? No matter the zodiac this room will provide an opportunity for self reflection and relaxation. Once you have come to terms with the past you can begin to frame your future by using the gallery wall. However, keep an eye on the clocks because you shouldn’t waste time on things you can’t change. The number one rule of a living room is to live!
Aquarius Home Staging
We transformed this living/dining area which was a bit dark despite a large window, by painting one of the walls in a dark blue colour, while keeping the rest as they were, a zingy yellow/green and adding colourful furniture, a shaggy Berber rug and floor lamp with a large white shade, we created a vibrant, eye catching space which attracted a buyer on the first day of coming back on the market..
This detail shows the blue sofa, colourful cushion and a large floor lamp with white shade over the grey chair and glass side table.

Gathering, TV watching and quiet reflection were the driving factors when considering this layout. Open to the dining room and foyer, this room is the central space that unifies the townhouse. Photography by Michael Zirkle.
The Look Staging & Design
This cozy window seat was created to hide shoes underneath. The doors slide behind each other, and are stained in 2 wood tones for interest. The 2 custom pillows in the front have a beautiful Indian motif. I used contrasting welt to pick up the blue accents in that fabric. I love the chunky red welt to make the blue seat cushion really pop. The owner's rug works perfectly in this cozy sitting area. The finishing touch is a pair of painted "doors" art on the wall with the metal handle.

The music room was carved out of the far end of the living room. A antique baby grand piano covered with family photos lends a nice country house feeling to the space. A tall stereo speaker is used as a pedestal for the pottery vase and the dried Manzanita branch which adds a natural, sculptural presence to the room.
