ING ConstructionThis main room in the Accessory Dwelling Unit. /with a full kitchenette, granite counter top, brass colored cabinet drawer pulls and kitchen sink faucet. Stainless steel mini-refrigerator and stove. Gray shaker styled kitchen cabinets. Laminate floor with white painted walls. The highlight, a Skylight for beautiful natural lighting with recessed and suspended lighting.
The room also provides a wall mounted flat screen TV and a pull-out couch/bed for extra sleeping guest accessability.
Beckmann ArchitectureThis vaulted ceiling is framed by a feature gable wall which features a central wood burner, discrete storage to one side, and a window seat the other. Bespoke framing provide log storage and feature lighting at a high level, while a media unit below the window seat keep the area permanently free from cables - it also provide a secret entrance for the cat, meaning no unsightly cat-flat has to be put in any of the doors.
SpacejoyMulti Functional Space: Mid Century Urban Studio
For this guest bedroom and office space, we work with texture, contrasting colors and your existing pieces to pull together a multifunctional space. We'll move the desk near the closet, where we'll add in a comfortable black and leather desk chair. A statement art piece and a light will pull together the office. For the guest bed, we'll utilize the small nook near the windows. An articulating wall light, mountable shelf and basket will provide some functionality and comfort for guests. Cozy pillows and lush bedding enhance the cozy feeling. A small gallery wall featuring Society6 prints and a couple frames for family photos adds an interesting focal point. For the other wall, we'll have a TV plant and chair. This would be a great spot for a play area and the baskets throughout the room will provide storage.
Reap ConstructionThis home in the Mad River Valley measures just a tad over 1,000 SF and was inspired by the book The Not So Big House by Sarah Suskana. Some notable features are the dyed and polished concrete floors, bunk room that sleeps six, and an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the living space.
Centre Sky Architecture LtdKendrick's Cabin is a full interior remodel, turning a traditional mountain cabin into a modern, open living space.
The walls and ceiling were white washed to give a nice and bright aesthetic. White the original wood beams were kept dark to contrast the white. New, larger windows provide more natural light while making the space feel larger. Steel and metal elements are incorporated throughout the cabin to balance the rustic structure of the cabin with a modern and industrial element.
Generations Master BuilderThe main living area was drab and the original brick fireplace was not appealing. A new white and grey paint job with some reworking of the fireplace shelving gives it a more updated feel. Lighting was upgraded to LED throughout
Brindley ArchitectsThe interior of the home was intended as a "cave" providing shelter from the elements but allowing as much outlook as possible from all rooms. The double height windows are broken down with mid level sunshading and fabric pleated blinds to control privacy and sunlight penetration.
The bifold doors at the end of the space open out into the treetops to provide alfresco eating under a shade cloth roof.
Simply Home DecoratingThis 1990's home, located in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley neighbourhood, had high ceilings and a great open plan layout but the decor was straight out of the 90's complete with sponge painted walls in dark earth tones. The owners, a young professional couple, enlisted our help to take it from dated and dreary to modern and bright. We started by removing details like chair rails and crown mouldings, that did not suit the modern architectural lines of the home. We replaced the heavily worn wood floors with a new high end, light coloured, wood-look laminate that will withstand the wear and tear from their two energetic golden retrievers. Since the main living space is completely open plan it was important that we work with simple consistent finishes for a clean modern look. The all white kitchen features flat doors with minimal hardware and a solid surface marble-look countertop and backsplash. We modernized all of the lighting and updated the bathrooms and master bedroom as well. The only departure from our clean modern scheme is found in the dressing room where the client was looking for a more dressed up feminine feel but we kept a thread of grey consistent even in this more vivid colour scheme. This transformation, featuring the clients' gorgeous original artwork and new custom designed furnishings is admittedly one of our favourite projects to date!
