ShedsPABeige siding was selected for this cozy structure in the city. A small lot with limited access meant we had to assemble the structure on site. White trim, black shutters and flower boxes, as well as black doors made this shed a stand out in the neighborhood.

Billdr RenovationThe aim of this project was to bring intimacy and versatility to a duplex backyard with the addition of a new patio, garden, shed, and fence, sourced from treated wood. This project involved removing the existing soil, landscaping, installing fences, building a patio and a shed. The client also took the opportunity to install a charging station for their electric vehicle.

ShedstersShots of our iconic shed "Hanssel or Gretel". A play on words from the famous story, due to the families last name and this being a his or hers (#heshed #sheshed or #theyshed), but not a play on function. This dynamic homeowner crew uses the shed for their private offices, alongside e-learning, meeting, relaxing and to unwind. This 10'x10' are requires no permit and can be completed in less that 3 days (interior excluded). The exterior space is approximately 40'x40', still required no permitting and was done in conjunction with a landscape designer. Redwood BuildersRedwood Builders had the pleasure of working with leading SF based architects Seth and Melissa Hanley of Design Blitz to create a sleek and modern backyard "Shudio" structure. Located in their backyard in Sebastopol, the Shudio replaced a falling-down potting shed and brings the best of his-and-hers space planning: a painting studio for her and a beer brewing shed for him. During their frequent backyard parties (which often host more than 90 guests) the Shudio transforms into a bar with easy through traffic and a built in keg-orator. The finishes are simple with the primary surface being charcoal painted T111 with accents of western red cedar and a white washed ash plywood interior. The sliding barn doors and trim are constructed of California redwood. The trellis with its varied pattern creates a shadow pattern that changes throughout the day. The trellis helps to enclose the informal patio (decomposed granite) and provide privacy from neighboring properties. Existing mature rhododendrons were prioritized in the design and protected in place where possible.

Hoffman Grayson Architects LLPThe cedar shingle roof is partially hipped, to allow for small triangular transoms set into the cedar framing. A custom rectangular window projects out from the back wall.
The ridge beam was milled from Utile, and African hardwood considered more sustainable than Mahogany.

The Potting Shed is how a shed should look. It has a steep pitched roof with a generous overhang which, along with the small pane windows gives it a traditional look which will blend into any garden.

This space features a grey slat wall - easy to re configure when your storage needs change and customizable with a large number of accessories. The top right showcases heavy-duty Monkey Bars shelving - perfect tire storage for your winter wheels.
Jack CalderoneUnder the stairs, I built a shed for storing yard tools and other supplies. Space was limited so I designed it to wrap around under the stair landing as well. The door of the shed also includes built-in shelves for even more storage.
