“The idea of the “three sisters” tea station was inspired by Chekhov’s famous play!” quips furniture designer Johnny Grey “For sisters read three cupboards seeking to find an identity in a modern world - but interpreted here as the difficulty of find space of all the storage needed – tea, coffee or a glass for an alcoholic beverage!”
Below the cupboards is a hot and cold water dispenser, drinks fridge and work surface which provides space for serving anyone visiting for a sociable drink.
Grey has cleverly mixed traditions in this piece. The rough oak barrel which houses a sink, and waste bin on the back of the door is reminiscent of an old wine barrel. It is made of solid English pippy oak with artisan metal bands commissioned from Paul Jobst.
The “three sisters” cupboards echo a refined Chinese tea house. They are made from laminated oak bent round formers in three diameters, in gold leaf and hand painted finishes. LED lights are imbedded in the back for night time illumination. This reinforces the circular shape and adds an interesting shadow line.

Our clients approached us after completing the redevelopment of their home, with one area left largely untouched—the dining room. Once a central gathering spot, it had become a bare, underutilised space. After a friendly recommendation led them to Hobson’s Choice, we provided the thoughtful solution they had been seeking to breathe new life into this important part of their home.
A key feature the Spratlings requested for their bar area was a wine wall. As avid collectors who frequently visit Bordeaux, they wanted to showcase some of their fine wine collection in their home rather than storing it all elsewhere. The goal was to create a space where they could both display and enjoy their wine.

This extraordinary bespoke alcohol unit is more than just a piece of furniture; it's a heartfelt tribute to family unity. The design incorporates symbolic elements, with two bird wall lamps and one floor lamp representing the client's three children. The floor lamp, resembling a fledgling ready to take flight, symbolizes the eldest child's journey towards independence. The cabinet's dual structure mirrors the parents' nurturing role, while the interlocking brass rods evoke the image of a strong, enduring family tree. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the unit features a wine rack, wine fridge compartments, and elegant marble cabinets. This one-of-a-kind creation is a testament to the power of design to evoke emotion and celebrate cherished relationships.

This modern contemporary style dry bar area features Avant Stone Bianco Orobico - honed, benchtop and splash back with a sliding door to hide the bar when not in use.

This bespoke bar wall pairs classic shaker detailing with clever, concealed storage. The central drinks area features a honed Carrara marble worktop, mirrored back panel and glass shelving, with one base cabinet discreetly housing an undercounter fridge. To the left, a tall housekeeper’s cupboard provides practical everyday storage, while the tall doors on the right open into a hidden alcove nook, adding an unexpected layer of functionality behind the seamless cabinetry.

Designed as a destination for entertaining and unwinding, this bespoke home bar and media wall blends rich materials, layered textures and integrated technology to create a space that feels indulgent yet inviting.
From our Kavanagh collection and crafted in a rich Hazelwood finish, the bi-fold bar hides a fully equipped serving area featuring a Sub-Zero wine fridge, Quooker tap, and bespoke storage, while antiqued bronze mirrors and glass shelving introduce subtle drama. A reeded Hazelwood media wall with integrated lighting anchors the space, seamlessly combining display and concealed storage.
Complemented by Caesarstone Vanilla Noir surfaces and burnished brass accents, the result is a warm, speakeasy-inspired interior that invites slow evenings, effortless entertaining, and a distinctly luxurious atmosphere.
