This homeowner lived on a very prominent golf course and wanted to feel like he was on the putting green of the 9th hole while standing at his family room window. The existing layout of the home had the garage enjoying that view with the outdated dining room, family room and kitchen further back on the lot. We completely demoed the garage and a section of the home, allowing us to design and build with that view in mind. The completed project has the family room at the back of the home with a gorgeous view of the golf course from two large curved bay windows. A new fireplace with custom cabinetry and shelf niches and coffered high ceilings makes this room a treasure. The new kitchen boasts of white painted cabinetry, an island with wood top and a 6 burner Wolf cooktop with a custom hood, white tile with multiple trim details and a pot filler faucet. A Butler’s Pantry was added for entertaining complete with beautiful white painted cabinetry with glass upper cabinets, marble countertops and a prep sink and faucet. We converted an unused dining room into a custom, high-end home office with beautiful site- built mahogany bookcases to showcase the homeowners book collections. To complete this renovation, we added a “friends” entry and a mudroom for improved access and functionality. The transformation is not only efficient but aesthetically pleasing to the eye and exceeded the homeowner’s expectations to enjoy their view of the 9th hole.

The light natural colors used in the kitchen beautifully contrast the rugged beauty of the home's coastal surroundings.

Pull out drawers create accessible storage solution in a tall pantry cabinet.

The challenge of modernizing this 1970’s kitchen was its high ceilings. A dark color pallet was selected to keep the focus at eye level. A wall was removed to create symmetry within the space. To balance the dark pallet, lights where added above and under the cabinets.

The formal dining room with paneling and tray ceiling is serviced by a custom fitted double-sided butler’s pantry with hammered polished nickel sink and beverage center.

This u-shaped kitchen remodel features Starmark Cabinetry in a Maple Wood Farmington door style in a white tinted varnish finish. The stainless steel appliances, the stainless steel sink from IPT, the Richelieu handles and the Moen Arbor faucet are the subtle details that really bring together this remodel. The Arizona tile backsplash is the H-line series in Pumice that also compliments the theme in this room. The storage is maximized by providing drawers and cabinets on the counter area where the sink is located taking advantage of the space that area created.

This is one of my favorite details, well used. Every kitchen could benefit from multiple pull out pantries - easy access and easy to see it all, nothing gets lost or just sits on the shelves collecting dust.
The sliding doors were removed and the hot water radiator relocated to enrich the functionality and beauty of the kitchen. Glass tiles, leaded glass doors, polished granite, interior cabinet lighting, new ceiling lighting along with cabinets that reach the ceiling were designed to visually expand the space. Reflective surfaces assist in expanding the space, as do glass doors because the mind peers beyond the door's face surface. White cabinets and trim with just enough detail and accent so as not to numb the emotion with a hospital quality further expands the sense of the kitchen space. Creativity and an ability to think "outside the box" are necessary for these gems we describe as "row" homes. Restoration when done well is exciting; it's refreshing and delightful. We can not disassociate our emotions from our environments. Why should we? We should strive to be happy within beauty. Part of the Arts and Crafts Movement in America used as its' motto: the Beautiful, the Useful and the Enduring. For an artisan craftsman or designer the motto holds true today. The sterling grey SieMatic cabinetry, filled with high efficiency points-of-use storage like a pull-out pantry, increased both storage and counter space.
