Wet Bar with heavy glass shelves 1/2" thick floating infant of black mirror. The wall edge of the glass shelves had tiny firefly lights adhered to it so it would reflect in the mirror and add an incandescent sparkle to the glowing cut crystal barware. The shelves were washed in a magenta and voltaire purple color filter as well as the ice always on display.

A kitchen update of a historical house in Monrovia was a true delight.
Preservation of the existing flooring, moldings and windows was the key to allowing this new and fresh kitchen to keep its old world feel.
All the accessories such as the light fixtures, pulls and sink are made out of copper with a nice rough finish to it.
the counter tops are Quartz stone for durability and the cabinets are the classical white shaker with groves in it.
the key to tie it all together was the backsplash, see the complexity of the combination of the different pieces:
the 3x12 main tile
the 3x12 decorative pieces running all around
the pencil liner to border the backsplash all around.
Small and smart kitchen. This kitchen offers it all.
These cabinets are maple painted champagne color. Custom cabinets frameless construction. Cabinets brought all the way to the ceiling with beautiful custom crown molding. The glass door cabinet dresses up the kitchen to serve as a buffet for entertaining. Easy and beautiful eating with the bench seating and small cafe table.
The microwave is a space saver by serving as a hood as well. Designed by Nancy Henry for DDK Kitchen Design Group.
