Luxury Guest Room + Home Office | Joseph Terry Grove, York (Near York City Centre) This York residential project at Joseph Terry Grove (near York city centre) transformed an underused room into a luxury guest bedroom with an integrated home office—designed to feel calm, functional and beautifully finished. As a York interior designer, I developed a modern, high-end scheme focused on space optimisation and seamless storage. The design features bespoke fitted wardrobes and high-end bespoke cabinetry, carefully planned to keep the room clutter-free while still feeling warm and inviting for guests. A dedicated work zone was built in with an integrated office desk, supported by modern LED lighting to create practical task light for daytime working and a softer glow for evenings. To elevate the overall feel, the floor finish was selected to bring texture and luxury—herringbone flooring creates a timeless, premium foundation that instantly makes the space feel more considered. The room was finished with layered soft furnishings, luxury rugs, and high-end upholstery, giving it that turnkey, “everything has been thought through” look. Final details were elevated with luxury finishes and premium hardware, ensuring the joinery and styling feel cohesive and truly bespoke. L’objectif de cette rénovation a été de réunir deux appartements distincts en un espace familial harmonieux. Notre avons dû redéfinir la configuration de cet ancien appartement niçois pour gagner en clarté. Aucune cloison n’a été épargnée. L’ancien salon et l’ancienne chambre parentale ont été réunis pour créer un double séjour comprenant la cuisine dinatoire et le salon. La cuisine caractérisée par l’association du chêne et du Terrazzo a été organisée autour de la table à manger en noyer. Ce double séjour a été délimité par un parquet en chêne, posé en pointe de Hongrie. Pour y ajouter une touche de caractère, nos artisans staffeurs ont réalisé un travail remarquable sur les corniches ainsi que sur les cimaises pour y incorporer des miroirs. Un peu à l’écart, l’ancien studio s’est transformé en chambre parentale comprenant un bureau dans la continuité du dressing, tous deux séparés visuellement par des tasseaux de bois. L’ancienne cuisine a été remplacée par une première chambre d’enfant, pensée autour du sport. Une seconde chambre d’enfant a été réalisée autour de l’univers des dinosaures.

This living room turned home office was lacking privacy and storage for the homeowner who often works from home. We designed and built a wall of storage incorporating practical hidden storage, including filing drawers, and open shelving to display sentimental and decorative items. We also added cavity sliding doors with frosted glass panels to the entryway which was previously just an opening with no ability to close off the space for privacy and sound reduction. To integrate the sliding doors we built a new wall skin within the room to create the cavity required for the doors to slide away fully into the wall when not in use. The end result is a new pair of sliding doors and entryway which looks like it has always been a part of the home and a beautiful wall of storage which fits seamlessly into this multipurpose room.

Combining home office storage and a relaxing entertainment space, our latest completed project blends Hague Blue walls and cabinetry to showcase the elegant American Black Walnut shelving and slatted panelling – a nod to the rich tones of client’s traditional dark wood desk.

Situé au 4ème et 5ème étage, ce beau duplex est mis en valeur par sa luminosité. En contraste aux murs blancs, le parquet hausmannien en pointe de Hongrie a été repeint en noir, ce qui lui apporte une touche moderne. Dans le salon / cuisine ouverte, la grande bibliothèque d’angle a été dessinée et conçue sur mesure en bois de palissandre, et sert également de bureau. La banquette également dessinée sur mesure apporte un côté cosy et très chic avec ses pieds en laiton. La cuisine sans poignée, sur fond bleu canard, a un plan de travail en granit avec des touches de cuivre. A l’étage, le bureau accueille un grand plan de travail en chêne massif, avec de grandes étagères peintes en vert anglais. La chambre parentale, très douce, est restée dans les tons blancs.

Interior design of home office for clients in Walthamstow village. The interior scheme re-uses left over building materials where possible. The old floor boards were repurposed to create wall cladding and a system to hang the shelving and desk from. Sustainability where possible is key to the design. We chose to use cork flooring for it environmental and acoustic properties and kept the existing window to minimise unnecessary waste.
