This fantastically designed wine cellar, courtesy of the master wine cellar builders at Vintage Cellars, is a unique representation of fun and bespoke features that can be incorporated into a traditional redwood, yet modern and bright wine cellar like this. The wine room draws you in from across the house, with its warm redwood tones and interesting wrought iron and glass door. Wine Cellar doors are often overlooked, but proper knowledge of door materials, glass specifications, threshold placement and hanging procedures are key to creating that perfect airtight room. Additionally, based on the location of your room within your home, the amount of glass in your wine cellar, and your location in the world, levels of cooling capacity need to be seriously considered.
Glass is a naturally poor insulator. Because there has been a very heavy push for "wine cellar art," "wine cellars as art," and wine cellars as a main design component within high end homes, glass wine cellars are often incorporated in high trafficked areas or spaces where each homeowner can show off their prized wines to friends in an almost showcase like display.

Directly past the wine inventory station is a vertical row of large format bottle coved trays, displaying some of the owner's favorite wines in the most coveted vintages.

Almost always, and in this case, I do my best to draw out the creativity of my clients, even when they think that they are not creative. This house is a perfect example of that with much of the client's vision and culture infused into the house.
Washington Valley CellarsLooking in through the window, this highlights the tasting counter with a drawer under the counter top where you can store your wine related "stuff". Also, the custom designed and installed ceramic backsplash featuring a bunch of grapes in the center of the design. In the foreground you can see the 3 liter bottles highlighted on the rack through the window.
SGDI - Sarah Gallop Design Inc.The exterior of this villa style family house pops against its sprawling natural backdrop. The home’s elegant simplicity shown outwards is pleasing to the eye, as its welcoming entry summons you to the vast space inside. Richly textured white walls, offset by custom iron rails, bannisters, and chandelier/sconce ‘candle’ lighting provide a magical feel to the interior. The grand stairway commands attention; with a bridge dividing the upper-level, providing the master suite its own wing of private retreat. Filling this vertical space, a simple fireplace is elevated by floor-to-ceiling white brick and adorned with an enormous mirror that repeats the home’s charming features. The elegant high contrast styling is carried throughout, with bursts of colour brought inside by window placements that capture the property’s natural surroundings to create dynamic seasonal art. Indoor-outdoor flow is emphasized in several points of access to covered patios from the unobstructed greatroom, making this home ideal for entertaining and family enjoyment.
Washington Valley CellarsThis photo highlights the custom designed tasting area. It features 8 rows of bottle storage flanked by bottle columns for magnums and champagne sized bottles. Above the granite counter is a glass rack and then magnum display rows above. The custom designed backsplash was consists of porcelain tiles with a decorative border and a bunch of "ceramic grapes" in the center.
Vogue Homes, Inc.Only the finest door would do to hold the finest wine. Unique joints become beautiful detailing on the casing of this door. Hand forged wrought iron adorns the arched door, details the hinges, and fastens the door closed. The magnificent hand carved solid wooden Fleur De Lis banner makes this door a piece of art.
