PlaidFox StudioThis home used to be compartmentalized into tinier rooms, with the dining room contained, as well as the kitchen, it was feeling very claustrophobic to the homeowners! For the renovation we opened up the space into one great room with a 19-foot kitchen island with ample space for cooking and gathering as a family or with friends. Everyone always gravitates to the kitchen! It's important it's the most functional part of the home. We also redid the ceilings and floors in the home, as well as updated all lighting, fixtures and finishes. It was a full-scale renovation.

Robin Davis InteriorsThe clients had the walnut dining table and 2 original wishbone chairs in storage for 20 years- I couldn't believe our luck when I saw them in person and knew they were perfect as our jumping off point to the design. The new Crate & Barrel wall unit also in walnut looks perfect in the space to hold decor pieces, a fold-down bar top and entertaining pieces behind the closed doors. The Hygge & West wallpaper in the retro gold pattern adds just enough interest to highlight the furniture.
Haven Design and ConstructionThe design team elected to preserve the original stacked stone wall in the dining area. A striking sputnik chandelier further repeats the mid century modern design. Deep blue accents repeat throughout the home's main living area and the kitchen.

Via D'sa Interior DesignModern dining room. Bright and clean lines with a pop of color. Minimal but warm and colorful. Upholstered chairs add softness and color to the space.
Soledad Builders, LLCIn lieu of a formal dining room, our clients kept the dining area casual. A painted built-in bench, with custom upholstery runs along the white washed cypress wall. Custom lights by interior designer Joel Mozersky.
The Rath Project LLCThis statement dining room incorporates red patterned wallpaper against a high gloss blue ceiling adorned with a black rattan pendant. Stunning built ins also painted in high gloss have been styled with all of the entertaining essentials!
Globe ElectricThe mid-century modern design trend is a throwback to the design style of primarily the 1950s and 60s when lighting was a source of beauty as well as illumination. The Harrow 1-Light Pendant utilizes a stunning shape, a matte finish and gold accents to bring mid-century modern design into your home. Pinnacle Design & RemodelingDining room has a brown vinyl flooring accented by gray tone walls and a mid-century modern dining room set. Blue accents help tile in the kitchen cabinets as well as the living room couch. The yellow rug and gold light fixtures help add an element of a modern touch.
BDesignClassic Martinique wallpaper cover the walls of this midcentury dining room. The Eames dining chairs compliment the wallpaper in a soft mint green.

Distinctive KitchensWe love the volume and airy texture of this fixture. We let this fixture be the star, choosing just one other flush-mount for over the kitchen sink and doing cans elsewhere.
Here, the shapes of the mirror and light fixture echo each other; we softened the metal surface of the table by adding soft textures in both the rug and the runner. Our goal was to bring the style and flare of the Midcentury Modern aesthetic back to the home, and since this dining room is adjacent to the kitchen, it became part of the overall design.
