Neptune Swimming PoolsThis project was highly innovative because of its use of steel as a stepping-stone framework rather than traditional concrete. As a fully functioning fishpond, the concrete slabs generally used to suspend the stones would not provide enough room for fish to inhabit comfortably, therefore a steel frame was constructed so that the fish can swim freely underneath the stones and around the pond.
The ‘Koi Pond’ is 7.9m x 2.6m and 0.9m deep and was created with specific details that would help the fish species thrive in the pond’s environment, including the use of a dark tile and a filtration system that was carefully selected to accommodate the fish.
Along with being a functioning fishpond, this space doubles as a standout water feature. With black glass mosaic tiles and Tundra Marble stone coping, the features are highlighted by the surrounding greenery and a pedestal for a feature pot adds dimension and detail.

Land & Water DesignThis project the home sat at the top of the hill with breathtaking views all around. The challenge was restrictions that dictated the placement of the pool a distance from the house. The final design was very pleasing with the swimming pool on the slope with these amazing views. A walkway leads from the side of the home to the pool gate. On entering the pool area, reveals a spa cascading into the pool, ample Techo-Bloc paver pool decking, and the valley laid out below.

This inground freeform swimming pool in Yorkville, IL measures approximately 1040 square feet with a sunshelf that measures approximately 4'0"" x 6'0". Bubblers on the sunshelf and spillover features on the hot tub complement the outcropping slide feature. The coping is Indiana Limestone. The hot tub is approximately 6'0" x 14'0". Ryan Hughes DesignWithin the space was positioned a vantage point created by a massive custom tile water wall. A stepping pad path runs along the font of the water wall connecting areas of the outdoor space.
