Chi Renovation & DesignThe historical elements of the existing home were important to the client so we refurbished the original woodwork from the home. To accentuate the woodwork, the large wooden dining table is complemented by the series of pendant lights that hang above.
Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who serve Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Wilmette, and all of the way up to Lake Forest.

Deborah Bettcher - Decorating Den InteriorsThis fresh dining room incorporates Scandinavian and Mid Century Modern styles to create a unique Nordic Chic vibe. The custom dining table was made by local craftsmen. The airy dining chairs are actually designed for outdoor use, so they will hold up to this family's busy lifestyle. The organic pattern on the area rug reflects the graceful lines of the evergreens in their front yard. Likewise, the faux bois chandelier lends an artful sculptural element to the space.
VictoriaI love the look of board and batten walls but can't afford the full treatment right now. I scoured pictures on the web and found that some people are doing a faux treatment and it turns out pretty effective. So without hesitation...I decided to jump in. I first painted the top portion a dark green (at first I thought...wow that's really dark. But I love the color now). I installed molding horizontally about 5-1/2' from the floor. I next (with the help of the hubby) ripped a 4' x 8' piece of mdf into 3" strips. I then applied them to the wall with construction adhesive and brad nails. I then caulked and painted everything cottage white semi-gloss to match the existing molding throughout the house. Made new curtains, brought the furniture back in. I think it turned out pretty good!

This traditional dining room has beautiful chartreuse walls and striped silk drapery panels. The crystal chandelier sets the formal tone and sparkles with prismatic light. The buffet and dining table are antique while the dining chairs are new. The antique gold buffet lamps by Visual Comfort are a perfect way to frame the original oil painting above the buffet.

Lisette Voute DesignsWe built in a window seat bench (with handy storage inside) in the bay window for optimum use of the space and a handy dining nook. The roman blinds add a nice touch with the other soft furnishings.
