Deja DesignsThe dropped deck on this Caribbean vacation rental, Deja View in St. John US Virgin Islands was the answer to opening the V I E W! This ordinary rectangular pool was converted into a modern infinity edge pool. Beautiful Dominican Republic Coral Stone covers the deck for over 5,000 sq. feet. Coral stone was a great choice since it stays cool to the touch and the porous nature is not a problem in the Caribbean where it never freezes. The freezing of wet, porous surfaces can cause expansion and cracking. Deja View sleeps up to 17 guests, so we created many seating and lounging areas in and out of the sun. The Jaccuzzi is sunken down into the deck in the corner providing open views of the Caribbean, St. Croix and St. Thomas. Many textures were used in the building materials including glass tile, white pebble rocks, redwood, coral stone and dry stack rock.

A gabled portico entry leads to the core of the home, which was the only portion of the original home, while the living and private areas were all new construction. Coffered ceilings, Carrera marble and Jerusalem Gold limestone contribute a decided elegance throughout, while sweeping water views are appreciated from virtually all areas of the home.
The light-filled living room features one of two original fireplaces in the home which were refurbished and converted to natural gas. CBI Design Professionals, Inc.This renovation and addition project, located in Bloomfield Hills, was completed in 2016. A master suite, located on the second floor and overlooking the backyard, was created that featured a his and hers bathroom, staging rooms, separate walk-in-closets, and a vaulted skylight in the hallways. The kitchen was stripped down and opened up to allow for gathering and prep work. Fully-custom cabinetry and a statement range help this room feel one-of-a-kind. To allow for family activities, an indoor gymnasium was created that can be used for basketball, soccer, and indoor hockey. An outdoor oasis was also designed that features an in-ground pool, outdoor trellis, BBQ area, see-through fireplace, and pool house. Unique colonial traits were accentuated in the design by the addition of an exterior colonnade, brick patterning, and trim work. The renovation and addition had to match the unique character of the existing house, so great care was taken to match every detail to ensure a seamless transition from old to new.
Dick Clark + AssociatesNestled in the hill country along Redbud Trail, this home sits on top of a ridge and is defined by its views. The drop-off in the sloping terrain is enhanced by a low-slung building form, creating its own drama through expressive angles in the living room and each bedroom as they turn to face the landscape. Deep overhangs follow the perimeter of the house to create shade and shelter along the outdoor spaces.

Equilibrium Interior Design IncDeep blue Bisazza mosaic lines a lap pool with infinity edge that wraps around the home and terminates into a swimming pool with a tanning ledge. This tanning ledge, sometimes called sun shelf, offers a shallow area great for lounging and tanning in the water.
Extensive pool deck, along with covered barbeque and dining area and covered seating space, and large sliding door panels open up the interior and outdoor spaces to one another and facilitate smooth/natural flow of the entertaining guests inside and out.
Exterior surfaces combine exotic Brazilian ipe wood and vein-cut limestone creating dramatic contrast on the multi-faceted façade. Ipe is one of the densest hardwoods available, three times harder then cedar and is a great choice for exterior cladding on homes in tropical Florida climate.
