Spec:
The client purchased a penthouse flat with a traditional style dining area but wanted to incorporate a wine cellar cabinet within the room. The temperature in the space was already controlled by an existing air conditioning system and we proposed to build this into the design to seamlessly blend in with the existing room.
Capacity:
Up to 500 bottles
Features:
Bespoke made, oak doors and frames with specialist UV/temperature controlled glass. Combination of sliding wooden displays and linear scallop racking to utilize the restricted depth within some areas of the cabinet with spot light and selected LED lighting throughout. Integrated temperature control system and hidden water-cooled condensing unit, with dining room air-conditioning unit and grill.

Wine racking under the stairs for a private home in Hertfordshire, UK. The client wanted some easy access wine storage under the stairs, we provided a combination of individual bottle racking and storage cubes made from solid oak. The area in total is now home to over 250 bottles of wine.

This luxury wine storage display was an alternative option for what was in this case, going to be a kitchen pantry. Overall this is a luxurious, bright showpiece that is within what was only a 4m2 footprint. The joinery finish in this display is a sprayed off-white finish therefore giving the space a more open feel. Floor to ceiling double glazing within a black aluminium door frame that ensures an airtight seal. The large center opening door has a custom door handle that sits directly on the glass. The overhead bulkhead has a reflective mirrored acrylic cladding finish. This conceals the refrigeration cooling system sat behind the air diffuser grill.
Sprayed moisture-resistant joinery
The internal core of the timber is a moisture-resistant fibreboard. This luxury wine storage comes down to an internal temperature of 6°C. Under those circumstances, the joinery longevity is essential in the cold and damp environment. Eventually, natural untreated timber will contract and deform in a cold and damp wine cellar.
With this in mind, the selected paint finish is also fortified with a waterproofing lacquer to further prevent ingress water.

Project: To design and manufacture bespoke, under stairs wine room. We have listened to all the requirements and worked with our client perfecting the design.
The transformation of this empty under stairs area is a statement to the property. Made in European Oak to match the surrounding décor and existing features within the property. A character Oak was used on drawer fronts and panelling to add a unique finish and contemporary look.
