A complete contemporary kitchen renovation transforming a dated kitchen into a brighter, more functional space designed for modern family living.
The existing kitchen featured ageing timber cabinetry, dark benchtops, limited storage and an oversized angular breakfast bar that visually dominated the room.
The new design retained the generous footprint while completely changing the way the kitchen looks and functions. Crisp white cabinetry was paired with warm timber-look overhead cabinets to add contrast and prevent the predominantly white kitchen from feeling clinical.
Light benchtops and a streamlined splashback help brighten the space, while the large curved breakfast bar creates an inviting place for casual meals and seating without the heavy appearance of the previous benchtop.
Storage was a major consideration in the new kitchen design. Full-height cabinetry around the refrigerator and appliance area makes better use of the available wall space, while extensive drawers and cabinetry provide practical everyday storage.
Integrated ovens, an induction cooktop, under-cabinet lighting and a cleaner appliance layout give the renovated kitchen a much more contemporary appearance while maintaining a practical working area.
This before-and-after transformation demonstrates how an existing kitchen footprint can be completely refreshed through thoughtful cabinetry, storage, finishes and layout planning without losing the generous proportions of the original space.

La camera da letto e caratterizzata dai toni azzurri e grigio tortora. Stile ecelettico che mischia elementi indiani, cinesi, Italiani.

Reimagined kitchen design at Perrie Designs Mosman House IV Project transformed this kitchen from being closed off to being open and functional.

A refined balance of functionality and aesthetics, a highly practical layout and moody colour palate, is softened in conjunction with white space and visual harmonies, creating a kitchen which feels open, airy and unencumbered.
This contemporary inframe shaker/slab cabinetry is painted in a deep navy from Farrow and Ball, contrasted by brushed nickel handles and knobs, and a textured white stone top with a full backsplash.
Take in the beautiful Irish countryside from the undermounted sink, which is flanked by pullouts bins and a dishwasher, and equipped with a Quooker tap for instant boiling water. Neff appliances are built at a convenient eye-level three abreast, affording an abundance of oven space. Plentiful storage for crockery and cookware is positioned above and below for ease of access. The central island accommodates three seated, and affords plenty of prep space beside the Bora induction hob, with a downdraft extraction system. Cutlery is neatly organised within solid wood dovetail drawers, and pullout racks hold herbs and spices within arm’s reach.
As per the client’s brief, the design omits traditional wall units in favour of rows of floating shelving. The shelving’s limed oak echoes the exposed roof trusses above, while its warm downward lighting runs in parallel with the coving LEDs. This deliberate choice not only opens up sightlines above the base cabinetry, but also creates a visual connection that draws the eye upward—lifting the gaze into the vaulted ceiling and allowing the kitchen to feel lighter and more expansive.
The final result is a kitchen that feels both grounded and expansive—that is as practical as it is visually uplifting. The interplay of rich tones, open sightlines, and bespoke details delivers a calm, elegant atmosphere with a strong sense of spatial harmony.
