Conscious Environments Inc.This fountain is a great addition to a front yard entry. Clean and simple with a subtle water noise for visual and auditory interest. The fountain is surrounded by boxwood hedges, Mexican Beach cobble, and white precast concrete.
Kitchen Design ConceptsBlack and white can never make a comeback, because it's always around. Such a classic combo that never gets old and we had lots of fun creating a fun and functional space in this jack and jill bathroom. Used by one of the client's sons as well as being the bathroom for overnight guests, this space needed to not only have enough foot space for two, but be "cool" enough for a teenage boy to appreciate and show off to his friends.
The vanity cabinet is a freestanding unit from WW Woods Shiloh collection in their Black paint color. A simple inset door style - Aspen - keeps it looking clean while really making it a furniture look. All of the tile is marble and sourced from Daltile, in Carrara White and Nero Marquina (black). The accent wall is the 6" hex black/white blend. All of the plumbing fixtures and hardware are from the Brizo Litze collection in a Luxe Gold finish. Countertop is Caesarstone Blizzard 3cm quartz.
Boyce Design + BuildThe upper level of this gorgeous Trex deck is the central entertaining and dining space and includes a beautiful concrete fire table and a custom cedar bench that floats over the deck. Light brown custom cedar screen walls provide privacy along the landscaped terrace and compliment the warm hues of the decking. Clean, modern light fixtures are also present in the deck steps, along the deck perimeter, and throughout the landscape making the space well-defined in the evening as well as the daytime.

Fraher & Findlay Architects LtdThe green of the frame to the glazing continues on the front windows, garden planters, garden furniture and is even applied to the drainpipes.
Colour was an important influence throughout the house,
with heritage colours picked by the client to echo a more
traditional palette mixed with mid century furniture.
LandCrafters, LLCBehind the Tea House is a traditional Japanese raked garden. After much research we used bagged poultry grit in the raked garden. It had the perfect texture for raking. Gray granite cobbles and fashionettes were used for the border. A custom designed bamboo fence encloses the rear yard.
Chirigos Designs / Design BarA butler's pantry for a cook's dream. Green custom cabinetry houses paneled appliances and storage for all the additional items. White oak floating shelves are topped with brass railings. The backsplash is a Zellige handmade tile in various tones of neutral.
reDesign home | chicagoWith tall ceilings, an impressive stone fireplace, and original wooden beams, this home in Glen Ellyn, a suburb of Chicago, had plenty of character and a style that felt coastal. Six months into the purchase of their home, this family of six contacted Alessia Loffredo and Sarah Coscarelli of ReDesign Home to complete their home’s renovation by tackling the kitchen.
“Surprisingly, the kitchen was the one room in the home that lacked interest due to a challenging layout between kitchen, butler pantry, and pantry,” the designer shared, “the cabinetry was not proportionate to the space’s large footprint and height. None of the house’s architectural features were introduced into kitchen aside from the wooden beams crossing the room throughout the main floor including the family room.” She moved the pantry door closer to the prepping and cooking area while converting the former butler pantry a bar. Alessia designed an oversized hood around the stove to counterbalance the impressive stone fireplace located at the opposite side of the living space.
She then wanted to include functionality, using Trim Tech‘s cabinets, featuring a pair with retractable doors, for easy access, flanking both sides of the range. The client had asked for an island that would be larger than the original in their space – Alessia made the smart decision that if it was to increase in size it shouldn’t increase in visual weight and designed it with legs, raised above the floor. Made out of steel, by Wayward Machine Co., along with a marble-replicating porcelain countertop, it was designed with durability in mind to withstand anything that her client’s four children would throw at it. Finally, she added finishing touches to the space in the form of brass hardware from Katonah Chicago, with similar toned wall lighting and faucet.
