Alix Helps InteriorsA gorgeous young chap, 7 years old and curious about the world - bursting with colour and energy. That's Alexi and he needed a bedroom makeover. The riot of colour provided by the wallpaper gives this room the kick I was looking for, the vintage style works beautifully with the rose gold bed and was the perfect way to incorporate colour without risking a room that felt "too young' down the track. A smart desk space and huge felt dot pinboards give Alexi the space to be creative and enjoy the fruits of his labour.

Catherine S. Grasso, Design For LivingI was able to create this room fairly inexpensively by purchasing printed versions of iconic photos, ready made drapery panels and bedspread, Ikea sofa, chair and floor lamp. What brought the cost up is the vintage 1970's lucite table base with a glass top which will withstand the test of time in terms of design.
I love mixing colors with their opposites on the color wheel, in this case blue with orange.
The bedroom leads into a shared jack and jill style bathroom designed in classic finishes with a few modern touches.

Interiors by NatashaI was hired by the parents of a soon-to-be teenage girl turning 13 years-old. They wanted to remodel her bedroom from a young girls room to a teenage room. This project was a joy and a dream to work on! I got the opportunity to channel my inner child. I wanted to design a space that she would love to sleep in, entertain, hangout, do homework, and lounge in.
The first step was to interview her so that she would feel like she was a part of the process and the decision making. I asked her what was her favorite color, what was her favorite print, her favorite hobbies, if there was anything in her room she wanted to keep, and her style.
The second step was to go shopping with her and once that process started she was thrilled. One of the challenges for me was making sure I was able to give her everything she wanted. The other challenge was incorporating her favorite pattern-- zebra print. I decided to bring it into the room in small accent pieces where it was previously the dominant pattern throughout her room. The color palette went from light pink to her favorite color teal with pops of fuchsia. I wanted to make the ceiling a part of the design so I painted it a deep teal and added a beautiful teal glass and crystal chandelier to highlight it. Her room became a private oasis away from her parents where she could escape to. In the end we gave her everything she wanted.

Sustainable HomeThe vintage desk creates a compact space to do work. The bright colors of the lucite panel chandelier and the hand stiched Indian bedspread pick up the colors of the surfboards in the large format photo of Avila Beach. The client wanted guests to feel welcomed by a California vibe.

CM Natural DesignsThis bedroom on Sunset Cliffs in Sand Diego was designed for a lovely and well-traveled couple who likes to keep their space minimal and organized. They like color and simplicity. We played with scale and pattern to create interest to make this their ideal retreat at the end of the day.
