    The lavender is bordered by box (Buxus) there is Nepeter (Catmint) and Helichrysum (Curry Plant) in the border behind. Lonicera Baggesens Gold in the distant background

    Yes they like fairly fertile but well drained soil in full sun. The variety you saw was 'Hidcote' which spreads just over 2ft (75cm) Good luck
