John - slight curve at some windows and door transoms, as well as clerestory windows. Stone accents and fireplaces. Dark aluminum windows against light stucco color.
John - Courtyard concept off of living room and kitchen. Note the window system that appears to be windows at a stair case to the left, the fireplace (doesn't have to have a fire place), and landscape, and the trellis balcony looking into the courtyard in the distance.
John - A couple of details to look at here. 1) This could be another direction to take the design of a courtyard. 2) Note the iron details at the windows and balconies. Is this a look you like? 3)We can take the design of the covered balconies and patios in a number of directions. One is stucco wall divisions (columns), or a classic look with wood columns, and another is stone (or concrete) columns as shown here. This is also a completely covered balcony vs. an open trellis system. 4)Also note the eave detail with exposed decorative cut outriggers as opposed to a stone/concrete/stucco profile.
John - Are you open to a look of curved clerestories and/or dormer windows? Or are we sticking to straight horizontal lines?
John - An example of a long hallway that is broken up with doorways/passage ways (+/- 6" wing walls into the hall, about 12-18" wide). Note how it creates depth and dimension to a very linear space.
John - A possible look of the bedroom 3 balcony over the exercise and office.

John - similar to the attached octagon pergola off of the nook and family room. The finish details can vary to match the style direction we go in for the rest of the house.
John - A similar feel we can create at the outdoor kitchen patio off of the kitchen, or the outdoor living room at the second floor. Note the decorative stucco cornice at the opening vs doing an arch or elliptical curve
An example of the built-in book shelves at the office
A similar relationship between the family room, nook , and kitchen but on a more grand scale.

John - An example of the hood and possible window system if we keep the cook top at the island
John - An example of the formal sitting, but with high ceilings.
John - An example of a kitchen where the hood and (what would only be the cooktop) centered on the wall with windows on either side.
John - A more relaxed, informal media room.
John - An example of a standard secondary bath.
