Exterior Finish Colors and Details
I would be OK with the deck and possible skirting stained a very pale semi transparent style. Part of the beauty of the shingle style is the variations in color in the shingles. Using semi transparent stains on some or all of the siding with opaque trim would bring that texture to our board and batten.
Fishscale! I wonder if the man would let me inset panels of fishscales around the windows? Some in cedar with a semi transparent stain, it would be a ton of texture, but not in your face. It would also pick up the river stone shapes and bring that up onto the house from the foundation. I could even mix up stains so it has a more mottled look. Blue greens, greys, bleached tans... Set them into a crisp white frame?
Beautiful Windows!
Hmmm. Is there any rule about using the horizontal members to frame out contrast areas? I don't think so.
Oh god the color! Specifically the blue.
Saving for the gables. Hard to see what is going on, but it just looks like a simple fascia board with battens applied that overhang the bottom. Very pretty but not foo foo.
Crushing on the windows and the subtle color blocking going on. Beautiful way to add depth to a flat surface.
What I was thinking of in reverse. Do board and batten outside the frame, fishscale inside.
Oof. Yes. Greys, whites and a mix of siding styles.
I love the white gable trimout. But the thing I like the most is the soft color variations in the shingles behind.
Now my husband says he likes Tudor. It might be possible to do his "x" framing on the home.
I don't see manufacturer listed for the product colors. I'm bad at finding things. But this! This is so close. I love the Greg's and that wood tone on the roof is exactly the color I see in my head for the decking and shutters.
I don't know how they did this but I adore the look. Wonder if man beast would OK something like this for the exterior of the house?
Another beautiful sheer aqua wood finish.
Starting to think bleaching oil then top coated with hints of green browns and aqua blues is the way to go.
Oh gosh . The gable boards, the failings, board and batten, metal roof... lots to love!
Smaller pavers, but yes! Point set with groundcover/moss between.
This style suits our rural area much better than the cheerful and prim style it has now.
Beautiful siding.
Galvalume roofing and board and batten.
Bleaching oil plus stain? Oh I like that idea a lot.
Love the thick but simple trim plus the mix of stone and siding.
I don't want shingles, but the overall colors!!!
