Loft convertion
Winding stairs going up to loft. Potentially dark, so a skylight was fitted above the stairs, and if you look carefully there is a glass balustrade on the turn of the stairs which was negotiated with building control. The dark paint makes a feature of the turn in the stairs, but walls and floor are light because it’s still an area lacking light.
This top floor bedroom was opened up to the loft by removing most of the ceiling . But part of the ceiling was left ? Or a new floor added at a new height - to create a mezzanine work space, accessed by a removable ladder. Made safe by a balustrade instead of a wall to let light through. Skylight added.
Fitting in the staircase....this one bends around to save space
