Collaborative Interior DesignWe took advantage of the double volume ceiling height in the living room and added millwork to the stone fireplace, a reclaimed wood beam and a gorgeous, chandelier. The sliding doors lead out to the sundeck and the lake beyond. TV's mounted above fireplaces tend to be a little high for comfortable viewing from the sofa, so this tv is mounted on a pull down bracket for use when the fireplace is not turned on. Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.

Richmond Hill Design + BuildRichmond Hill Design + Build brings you this gorgeous American four-square home, crowned with a charming, black metal roof in Richmond’s historic Ginter Park neighborhood! Situated on a .46 acre lot, this craftsman-style home greets you with double, 8-lite front doors and a grand, wrap-around front porch. Upon entering the foyer, you’ll see the lovely dining room on the left, with crisp, white wainscoting and spacious sitting room/study with French doors to the right. Straight ahead is the large family room with a gas fireplace and flanking 48” tall built-in shelving. A combination of modern styles and cozy elements makes the space feel open and inviting.

We went with a minimalist, clean, industrial look that feels light, bright and airy. The island is a dark charcoal with cool undertones that coordinates with the cabinetry and transom work in both the neighboring mudroom and breakfast area. White subway tile, quartz countertops, white enamel pendants and gold fixtures complete the update. The ends of the island are shiplap material that is also used on the fireplace in the next room.
In the new mudroom, we used a fun porcelain tile on the floor to get a pop of pattern, and walnut accents add some warmth. Each child has their own cubby, and there is a spot for shoes below a long bench. Open shelving with spots for baskets provides additional storage for the room.
