It has a white-washed wood ceiling with gray beams, a painted brick fireplace, gray wood-look plank tile flooring, a bar with onyx countertops in the distance with a bathroom off to the side, eating space, a sliding barn door that covers an opening into the butler's kitchen. There are sliding glass doors than can close this room off from the breakfast and kitchen area if the owners wish to open the sliding doors to the pool area on nice days. Imperfect InteriorsThe sitting room in this family home in West Dulwich was opened up to the kitchen and the dining area of the lateral extension to create one large family room. A pair of matching velvet sofas & mohair velvet armchairs created a nice seating area around the newly installed fireplace and a large rug helped to zone the space
VPC Builders, LLCVPC’s featured Custom Home Project of the Month for March is the spectacular Mountain Modern Lodge. With six bedrooms, six full baths, and two half baths, this custom built 11,200 square foot timber frame residence exemplifies breathtaking mountain luxury.
The home borrows inspiration from its surroundings with smooth, thoughtful exteriors that harmonize with nature and create the ultimate getaway. A deck constructed with Brazilian hardwood runs the entire length of the house. Other exterior design elements include both copper and Douglas Fir beams, stone, standing seam metal roofing, and custom wire hand railing.
Upon entry, visitors are introduced to an impressively sized great room ornamented with tall, shiplap ceilings and a patina copper cantilever fireplace. The open floor plan includes Kolbe windows that welcome the sweeping vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The great room also includes access to the vast kitchen and dining area that features cabinets adorned with valances as well as double-swinging pantry doors. The kitchen countertops exhibit beautifully crafted granite with double waterfall edges and continuous grains.
VPC’s Modern Mountain Lodge is the very essence of sophistication and relaxation. Each step of this contemporary design was created in collaboration with the homeowners. VPC Builders could not be more pleased with the results of this custom-built residence.
JRP Design & RemodelOur clients wanted the ultimate modern farmhouse custom dream home. They found property in the Santa Rosa Valley with an existing house on 3 ½ acres. They could envision a new home with a pool, a barn, and a place to raise horses. JRP and the clients went all in, sparing no expense. Thus, the old house was demolished and the couple’s dream home began to come to fruition.
The result is a simple, contemporary layout with ample light thanks to the open floor plan. When it comes to a modern farmhouse aesthetic, it’s all about neutral hues, wood accents, and furniture with clean lines. Every room is thoughtfully crafted with its own personality. Yet still reflects a bit of that farmhouse charm.
Their considerable-sized kitchen is a union of rustic warmth and industrial simplicity. The all-white shaker cabinetry and subway backsplash light up the room. All white everything complimented by warm wood flooring and matte black fixtures. The stunning custom Raw Urth reclaimed steel hood is also a star focal point in this gorgeous space. Not to mention the wet bar area with its unique open shelves above not one, but two integrated wine chillers. It’s also thoughtfully positioned next to the large pantry with a farmhouse style staple: a sliding barn door.
The master bathroom is relaxation at its finest. Monochromatic colors and a pop of pattern on the floor lend a fashionable look to this private retreat. Matte black finishes stand out against a stark white backsplash, complement charcoal veins in the marble looking countertop, and is cohesive with the entire look. The matte black shower units really add a dramatic finish to this luxurious large walk-in shower.

The dining room has dramatic black and gold metallic accents. To the left is a home office, entrance to main level master suite and living area with SW0077 Classic French Gray fireplace wall highlighted with golden glitter hand applied by an artist. Light golden crema marfil stone tile floors, columns and fireplace surround add warmth. The chandelier is surrounded by intricate ceiling details. Just around the corner from the elevator we find the kitchen with large island, eating area and sun room. The SW 7012 Creamy walls and SW 7008 Alabaster trim and ceilings calm the beautiful home.
Annie Santulli Designs Bright walls with linear architectural features emphasize the expansive height of the ceilings in this lux golf community home. Although not on the coast, the use of bold blue accents gives a nod to The Hamptons and the Palm Beach area this home resides. Different textures and shapes are used to combine the ambiance of the lush golf course surroundings with Florida ocean breezes.
