An existing, thirsty fescue lawn was removed and planted with a meadow of native Carex praegracilis (sedge) and seeded with a variety of local wildflowers. In the foreground, hummingbird sage grows under coast live oaks.

The existing, sloped lawn perched above the swimming pool was replaced with a mix of CA native sedge (Carex praegracilis) and overseeded with California poppies and alyssum. Woodwardia ferns grow in the shade of the massive pergola and coast live oaks enclose the space. Existing pink roses and spilling pink jasmine top a small retaining wall.

TELFORD+BROWN STUDIO ARCHITECTURE
We were asked to add a small sunroom off a beautiful 1960's living room. Our approach was to continue the lines of the living room out into the landscape. Opening up and glazing the walls on either side of the fireplace gave more presence to the Dale Chihuly piece mounted above while visually connecting to the garden and the new addition.
