Now can we just talk about these windows? And this view? It’s like love at first sight, truly! And we wanted to take full advantage of this large bright space and keep in open but with an edge of modern sophistication. The clean lines of white, black and glass were balanced with the softness of the light wood accents. And if you’ve been following along with us for a while you know how we love to mix materials and this room really showcases that. And we have to talk about this piano for a minute – we are OBSESSED with this white, vintage-looking piano and wanted to make it a focal! We love to incorporate pieces that a client already has and this piano was the perfect addition to this room. Using this black & white custom wall mural emphasized piano keys and was just the right touch of WOW without taking away from the rest of the space

Size doesn’t matter when it comes to quality of design. For this petite Cape-style home along the Eagle River in Ipswich, Massachusetts, we focused on creating a warm, inviting space designed for family living. Radiating from the kitchen – the “heart” of the home – we created connections to all the other spaces in the home: eating areas, living areas, the mudroom and entries, even the upstairs. Details like the highly functional yet utterly charming under-the-stairs drawers and cupboards make this house extra special while the open floor plan gives it a big house feel without sacrificing coziness. In 2018, the home was updated with interior trim details, including new shaker paneling on the staircase and custom newel post, a TV built-in with shelves and drawers and beadboard back, and a half wall bookshelf with columns to replace the wall dividing the living room from dining room. The client also wanted a gas fireplace to enjoy during the winter, but didn't want to lose their beautiful marsh views. We designed the fireplace to go below the window, vented out the rear, with pebbled tile surround and benches flanking either side for storage.

Custom banquette area overlooks dining room and view of the lush backyard. The corner fireplace has a large concrete ledge for seating. Existing brick walls were painted with our favorite Shoji White to contrast the old growth walnut floors and open-grained cypress ceilings. A custom entertainment center is covered in white oak veneer. Transom windows add perceived height to the room and bring light into the interior spaces of the home. The living room is centered around a custom built-in media wall. Zebrano marble tiles are hand selected to create a striped effect which is mirrored by the upholstery on the dining chairs opposite the room. A rich blend of natural materials and cool colors give the space a masculine feel that's comfortable and inviting.

This unique system, on the 43rd floor of a Buckhead condo, had some distinct challenges, but it came together beautifully! The system features full automation including shades and curtains, multiple A/V setups, and gorgeous lighting, all backed by the stunning view of Atlanta. One of the most phenomenal features of this project is the in-ceiling dropdown screen in the Master Bedroom. This project is easily classified as one of the most elegant systems in this Buckhead highrise. Jason Robinson © 2014

Another view of the family room showing the opaque doors from The Sliding Door that lead to the guest room/office. A simple sectional with built in tables grounds the space. An occasional chair from West Elm pulls up for extra seating in this animal space. photographer David Hausmann
