With windows and doors on 3 sides, the kitchen is flooded with amazing light and beautiful breezes. The finishes were selected from a driftwood palate as a nod to the beach one block away, The limestone floor (beyond practical) dares all to find the sand traveling in on kids' feet. burlanes interiorsAs part of a renovation of their 1930's town house, the homeowners commissioned Burlanes to design, create and install a country style galley kitchen, for contemporary living.
Diana Sawicki Interior Design Inc.A wood-paneled island with a dark finish lends gravitas to the all white kitchen. A display of blue and white plates on the wall adds a pop of coastal color.
ArtichokeThis bespoke professional cook's kitchen features a custom copper and stainless steel La Cornue range cooker and extraction canopy, built to match the client's copper pans. Italian Black Basalt stone shelving lines the walls resting on Acero stone brackets, a detail repeated on bench seats in front of the windows between glazed crockery cabinets. The table was made in solid English oak with turned legs. The project’s special details include inset LED strip lighting rebated into the underside of the stone shelves, wired invisibly through the stone brackets.
Primary materials: Hand painted Sapele; Italian Black Basalt; Acero limestone; English oak; Lefroy Brooks white brick tiles; antique brass, nickel and pewter ironmongery.
Alberts House LtdShaker kitchen cabinets were painted in a deep green to highlight the brass hardware. Carrara marble worktops and reclaimed oak on the island complete the scheme for a bespoke individual finish.
Ridgecrest DesignsSituated in the wooded hills of Orinda lies an old home with great potential. Ridgecrest Designs turned an outdated kitchen into a jaw-dropping space fit for a contemporary art gallery. To give an artistic urban feel we commissioned a local artist to paint a textured "warehouse wall" on the tallest wall of the kitchen. Four skylights allow natural light to shine down and highlight the warehouse wall. Bright white glossy cabinets with hints of white oak and black accents pop on a light landscape. Real Turkish limestone covers the floor in a random pattern for an old-world look in an otherwise ultra-modern space.

Higham FurnitureBespoke Shaker kitchen, painted in a dark grey 'Scree' by Little Greene Paint Company. The cup handles are Cotswold Drawer Pulls by Armac Martin and the knobs are the Cotswold Mushroom knobs in satin nickel. The metro tiles help to add an industrial feel and the grey limestone floor tiles work well with the overall colour scheme. The worktops are Caesarstone's Blizzard.

burlanes interiorsThere is a lot to consider when designing a kitchen for a busy family. The kitchen is the centre of family life which means it's important to create a space that all the family can enjoy at the same time.
Our brief was to design and create a kitchen that is both practical and beautiful for a busy working family, who enjoy socialising and entertaining guests.
The result: "The new kitchen has really made a difference to day to day life, the end result has exceeded our expectations."
