Cabinet InnovationsA representation of true traditional kitchen design. This stunning inset kitchen remodel features a mixture of Brookhaven II and Wood-Mode 42 cabinets. A mixture of finishes was used to highlight the island and mantel hood area. The perimeter of the kitchen features a Cottage White finish on the Reston Recessed door style. Cabinets go to the ceiling and are finished off with an existing 12" room crown moulding. Upper wall cabinets have clear glass inserts and cabinet lighting to illuminate fine china. Due to the 11' high cabinets, the design of the kitchen has a detachable and easy to store ladder. Decorative toe kick valance enhances the traditional look of this elegant kitchen. Granite countertops complement the finish and door style selected.

The farm style sink is in the foreground. This is another project where the homeowners love the design process and really understand and trust my lead in keeping all the details in line with the story. The story is farmhouse cottage. We are not creating a movie set, we are trying to go back in time to a place when we were not herds of cattle shopping at costco and living in tract homes and driving all the same cars. I want to go back to a time when grandma is showing the kids how to make apple pie.
Oxford DevelopmentA bright, beautiful kitchen with inset white cabinets and generous light and space. A large 48" Kohler Harborview sink with two sets of Rohl faucets make clean up and prep work a breeze. Open shelving accentuates the 10' ceilings. White Carrara marble countertops and crisp white subway tiles help keep the space light and bright. Four-inch oak floors have a dark, custom stain. Paneled appliances help keep a furniture feel in this formal but welcoming home.
Paragon Kitchen & Bath StudioThis beautifully spacious kitchen was created by first removing an enclosed pantry closet where the microwave area is currently. We then carefully designed work spaces that function for this family who entertains often. The base cabinets are comprised of flat panel Walnut with a bourbon stain and the wall cabinets have white painted Shaker doors. Using light or white wall cabinets enhances the open space plan while dramatizing the darker base cabinets and the appliances. Using the Walnut cabinets on the wall where the range is highlights this area and gives the room depth and gravity. White Caesarstone Blizzard counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and white backsplash were used to enhance overall contrast. Light brown subway tile complements this open floor plan.

This kitchen was part of a whole house renovation. The house, a foreclosure property, was gutted and remodeled by Streetscape Design. The kitchen, originally a small peninsula kitchen, was opened up to the family room and the dining room, giving the house a more open feel. Benjamin Moore's "Fieldstone" was hand selected for the cabinets by designer, Susan Klimala, CKD, along with white carrera marble and simple white subway tile, reflecting a casual beachy feel that was carried throughout the house. Professional grade appliances, vintage style ceiling fixtures and nickel hardware complete the look. The new homeowners are enjoying life in their brand new "old" house.
