Simply Home DecoratingIn this serene family home we worked in a palette of soft gray/blues and warm walnut wood tones that complimented the clients' collection of original South African artwork. We happily incorporated vintage items passed down from relatives and treasured family photos creating a very personal home where this family can relax and unwind. Wesley-Wayne Interiors, LLCA formal dining room large enough for a huge round table and a server/sideboard with marble insets. A square handknotted rug anchors the space, but the star of this show is the oversized dining chairs with tapestry-fabric backs and sumptuous leather seats; they are tall and impressive. An unexpected round mirror, vase style accent lamps and custom wall florals and draperies complete this beautiful space.

The Interior EdgeFull view of the dining room in a high rise condo. The building has a concrete ceiling so a drop down soffit complete with LED lighting for ambiance worked beautifully. The floor is 24" x 24 " of honed limestone installed on a diagonal pattern.
"I moved from a 3 BR home in the suburbs to 900 square feet. Of course I needed lots of storage!" The perfect storage solution is in this built-in dining buffet. It blends flawlessly with the room's design while showcasing the Bas Relief artwork.
Three deep drawers on the left for table linens,and silverware. The center panel is divided in half with pull out trays to hold crystal, china, and serving pieces. The last section has a file drawer that holds favorite family recipes. The glass shelves boast a variety of collectibles and antiques. The chairs are from Decorative Crafts. The table base is imported from France, but one can be made by O'Brien Ironworks. Glass top to size.

First LampThis Greenlake area home is the result of an extensive collaboration with the owners to recapture the architectural character of the 1920’s and 30’s era craftsman homes built in the neighborhood. Deep overhangs, notched rafter tails, and timber brackets are among the architectural elements that communicate this goal.
Given its modest 2800 sf size, the home sits comfortably on its corner lot and leaves enough room for an ample back patio and yard. An open floor plan on the main level and a centrally located stair maximize space efficiency, something that is key for a construction budget that values intimate detailing and character over size.
Jane EllisonA custom-cut piece of glass tops a Saarinen tulip table base framed by a curvaceous silk-velvet settee and a wood bench stands in place of a conventional dining set in the dining area. “I didn’t want the clutter of a lot of chairs” Jane says. “It would have interfered with the calm of the room.”
Timber bamboo, lustrous overscale Vietnamese pottery, a trio of sparkling Thai mirrors, and nearly a dozen candles interspersed with smooth dark stones enhance the dining area’s grown-up appeal.

Serene interiors, vibrant patterns, and panoramic views of Lake Michigan define this dreamy lakeside haven.
The dining room features a portion of the original ornately paneled ceiling, now recessed in a mirrored and lit alcove, contrasted with bright white walls and modern rift oak millwork. The custom elliptical table was designed by Radutny.
