No Space Like Home
Dining area in coastal home with vintage ercol chairs and industrial light fitting
Rose Interiors; Design & Organization
This fun, teal dining room is perfect for the 850 sqft condo. The table is actually a vintage, family heirloom that was given a great facelift.
Construct by Nuthatch
Custom dining room fireplace surround featuring authentic Moroccan zellige tiles. The fireplace is accented by a custom bench seat for the dining room. The surround expands to the wall to create a step which creates the new location for a home bar.
Homestyle Select Decor
Enhancing the blue accents in the space, this string art and beautiful roman shades provide focal points in the breakfast room.

The brief: 1. colour 2. Keep existing dining furniture.
So picking up on colours in their framed painting and some upholstery in the adjacent living area, we chose a beautiful deep turquoise (Valspar Crown of Feathers) for the feature wall and a bright orange floor lamp. Matching place settings and a vase of roses later and Bob's your uncle!
Right On Bracket
After a lot of brainstorming and sharing of ideas, we had settled on a kintsugi style approach to repair the table. In Japan, the technique of repairing broken pottery using molten gold is an artform meant to accentuate flaws and present them as strengths. We used a bronze pigment to match the beautiful, exotic grain of the walnut slabs native to the area the table was made. We also employed carpentry techniques that will limit the expansion and stressors on the wood, and resin so the table will endure for years!

AE Studio
