Pierre Jean-Baptiste InteriorsNew beige and teal tones encompass this living and dining space of this family’s home. A metallic ceiling paint was used with the new different lighting fixtures to accent the areas in need. Phillips Hue LED lighting bulbs were used throughout the space including in the ceiling fixtures so that the intensity and mood of the room can simply be controlled by an app on the clients phone. Accent tables were added to the space for guests and residents to place cocktails during a conversation. Mahogany wood tones make the room more transitional. The dining chairs are upholstered with a custom patterned front to add the needed texture to the space. Accent tables were added to the foyer space for use as a temporary placeholder for keys and other pocket items as guests and residents place their shoes on or off.
RugKnots | Area RugsNeutral shades of grey, black, and cream mix with soft blues and bright aquamarines in this imaginative, artistic rug. A complex, intricate border stretches almost halfway to the rug's center, featuring miniature flowers and large, royal motifs. Shades of rose and pink add warmth and contrast. 2 Navy Lane, LLCThe Family Room included a sofa, coffee table, and piano that the family wanted to keep. We wanted to ensure that this space worked with higher volumes of foot traffic, more frequent use, and of course… the occasional spills. We used an indoor/outdoor rug that is soft underfoot and brought in the beautiful coastal aquas and blues with it. A sturdy oak cabinet atop brass metal legs makes for an organized place to stash games, art supplies, and toys to keep the family room neat and tidy, while still allowing for a space to live.
Even the remotes and video game controllers have their place. Behind the media stand is a feature wall, done by our contractor per our design, which turned out phenomenally! It features an exaggerated and unique diamond pattern.
We love to design spaces that are just as functional, as they are beautiful.

This busy Silicon Valley family wanted a grown-up reading room, a soothing retreat from hectic schedules and everyday clutter. Our clients' collection of global textiles, inspired the color scheme of varied blues, while comfortable seating and good lighting make it a functional place to get lost in a book.
Note: custom framing of an embroidered jacket from China, and making pillows out of appliqued rectangles from Central America, make this room a uniquely personal space.
