Houzz Australia Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary; Doubles Its Community and Launches Local Professional Marketplace


Houzz Inc., the world’s leading platform for home renovation and design, today announced that it has more than doubled its community in its first year in Australia, attracting more than 1.4 million unique monthly users to its mobile and online platform, Houzz.com.au. The dedicated Australian platform launched in August 2014 with 700,000 unique users and 10,000 active home renovation and design professionals. Today, the Australian professional community has grown to over 24,000 active home professionals across more than 60 trades. Houzz professionals use the platform as a critical business tool to build their brands, collaborate with clients and connect with homeowners looking to renovate or decorate across the country and around the world.

Houzz is the largest platform for home renovation and design globally with more than 35 million monthly unique users, 90 percent of whom are homeowners, and over 800,000 active home professionals. The Australian launch in August 2014 continued the company’s international expansion, which has since extended across Europe, the Nordics and into Asia. Over 45% of new Houzz users today come from outside the US, as a result of the company’s expansion efforts over the last year, compared to less than 30% in 2013.


Houzz is also announcing the roll-out out of the Houzz Professional Marketplace in Australia (Houzz Pro+), the next expansion of this programme outside the U.S and UK. The local marketplace was developed based on demand from Houzz’s Australian professional community, which expressed the need to gain even greater visibility in their local areas. The service is offered in addition to the free global platform and tools that Houzz continues to invest in and provide to its professional community.
