We had been using Barrett Tree Service East Inc for all our tree needs and we are very satisfied with their service and follow up. Our tree suffered a lot of damage this past March and Barrett came over to take care of fallen branches and to help us salvage the tree. While working on the property our backyard ladder was damaged. They immediately informed us and followed up with replacing it with a new one. The entire experience with them from having Marc come over to give us an proposal, their work here and their follow up has been exceptional. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

This was a great company to work with. Trumbull, who I believe is an owner, came out and gave us a free estimate with lots of helpful advice and he is extremely knowledgeable about trees and plants. He took his time walking around our yard and then sent a timely estimate based on what we'd discussed. The crew he sent was organized, respectful and worked hard and efficiently. All in all, a really nice company to deal with and our yard looks great. When I asked one of the guys right before they left, if he would trim back a branch that was growing a little too close to another tree, he cheerfully did it without any problem. Highly recommend, although they are not cheap. In my estimation, they were worth it for the great service and work.

Our condo association had two dying ornamental trees-a cherry and a Kousa dogwood--on our property. Barrett inspected and diagnosed the probable causes, determined that we could not save them, and recommended different species to replace them that would be hardier. They provided a detailed proposal and estimate within a week after the inspection and scheduled the work for late in the summer (busy season). They reconfirmed the appointment several days before doing the work, arranged parking permits for their equipment, and showed up on time. They expertly and carefully cut and removed the dying trees and installed beautiful, healthy 7-8' tall replacements including watering rings, and provided easy-to-understand instructions for care. Their staff were courteous, friendly, professional and skilled. I definitely would recommend them.

Truly excellent service from all at Barret and I highly recommend their services! We needed some trees trimmed/pruned back and our hemlocks treated and Alden came over to give us an estimate over summer. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting what to do. The crew that came were very professional and efficient in their work. I would definitely hire them again.

The whole crew is very professional and trustworthy. They are tree experts who offered great advice on how to keep my trees healthy and thriving. They were very efficient in pruning trees in my yard. I also appreciated their conservative approach in trying to save damaged trees instead of automatically removing them. I would highly recommend them.

Keith has guided us for two years through learning about the trees on our property and taking care of them - explaining what is going on, why it's happening, how and when (and if!) to address it, and what to be looking for in the future. His passion for his work is clear in his knowledge and engagement, his quick responses to our questions, and in the outcomes - happy, healthy trees and more pears than we (and all the neighborhood squirrels) could eat. We also appreciate the friendly staff and the prompt and courteous workers who have come to trim and spray. We really can't say enough good. Every interaction is a pleasure!

We have found Trumbull, Keith and the entire Team to be highly professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of Tree Care. They are dedicated and truly focus on the health, well-being and preservation of trees. Their approach is to keep plants in balance with nature by practicing sustainable maintenance techniques, which is something we value as well. We highly recommend Barrett Tree Service East to anyone looking for tree work including pruning, removal, cabling and stump grinding but most importantly tree and plant health care. Most knowledgeable crew I spoke to. Everyone was pleasant to work with highly professional. There were some unforseen challenges in grinding one of the stumps and they improvised with a pic ax and were able to resolve the issue. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them.

I hired Barrett's to inspect, and give recommendations for the care of two Norway Maples in our back yard. I specifically looked for certified arborists to oversee the work. Trust me, you don't want to just hire anyone with a chain saw - my neighbor did and left one of the trees a mess. The arborist, Alden, inspected the trees and gave me a treatment plan. He arrived with the tree trimmers to oversee the work and inspect the branches they removed for signs of insects or disease. He took a couple pieces away for further inspection. The report and subsequent treatment recommendation were promptly completed. These trees hang over 6 separate properties in a tight neighborhood. The Barrett's team was very professional and left all the back yards cleaner than they found them. Attached is a before and after shot of the tree canopies.

I hired Barrett to cut down an enormous maple tree in my backyard in Cambridge. They did a first class job. The tree was very tough to access and other companies were reluctant to do the job. The tree was far from the street and the houses are all close-together making it tough to reach with machines. Barrett's men arrived on time and worked hard all day, finishing the job at nightfall. Not only did they cut the tree down, but they dug up plants that were in danger of being damaged and then replanted them at the end of the day (I didn't expect or ask for this). As a final touch, they cleaned up all the sawdust and debris. I was so impressed and so were my neighbors. I would hire them again in a second.

From the initial assessment by Trumball, to completion of the final project that involved removing several arbor vitae and shrubs, grinding the stumps, and trimming some large, high trees, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, skill, and efficiency of Barrett Tree Service East. I had received a recommendation about them from my local gardener. Trumball was a pleasure to work with, and kept me informed via email as we moved closer to the date of the project. The on-site crew did a great job and were terrific, and I was especially impressed with Ryan and Tim who not only were extremely skilled, but also took the time to patiently answer all my questions. I am very pleased with the job they did and would use them again. I definitely recommend Barrett Tree Service East!

One of our ornamental pear trees had scattered browning of some leaves and branches. The owner, Trumbull Barrett, came out to inspect and diagnosed it right away: fire blight. So we hired Barrett Tree to treat the fire blight, prune four other trees, and restructure another ornamental pear tree. All the work went very smoothly and we felt the price was reasonable. The crew did a great job cleaning up afterward, including areas that affected my neighbors' yards.
