We live in a historic district in Washington, D.C. and wanted to raise the roof on our attic to create a lounge area. Our architect recommended Blue Sea for the construction, and we could not be happier with the results. Blue Sea removed our existing conventional roof and artfully expanded our usable space without violating the height restrictions through a unique V-shaped roof. Chris and his team were exceptional from inception to completion. An idiosyncratic project like ours, which included a specially-designed drainage system, is inherently stressful. With Blue Sea, however, our concerns were minimized. They educated us from the beginning about what we could expect, were available at all times (day and night) to respond to any questions we had during the process, and were invaluable with, frankly, really cool suggestions for what has become hands-down the favorite part of our home. They custom-built every nook and cranny of the new space to accommodate our vision and existing furniture, and to a person seemed really invested in delivering a high quality product. And they came in under budget. They really earned our trust, respect, and friendship. They were a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend them highly enough for work in the District, particularly with unique or challenging projects.

I hired Blue Sea Construction to remodel flooring, columns, coffered ceilings, new staircase and a $72,000 custom designed kitchen. I could not have been happier with the superior customer service and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Blue Sea Construction to anyone who is considering putting a personal touch to their renovation project.

Chris and his team did a terrific job on our kitchen. He worked with us to implement our design. His flexible plan to modify structural support for the second floor keep the timeline short and allowed best use of the space. His recommendations on materials helped us put the money where it made the biggest difference. They always left the site clean and minimized the impact on the rest of the living space. And when something went wrong, it always does, he took ownership of the problem and worked with us to implement a very successful fix. We'll definitely use Blue Sea again for major, important projects. They rock!

I have worked with Blue Sea Construction for 3 years and have completed 12 projects with them, all with excellent results both in terms of construction quality and customer satisfaction. We started our project thinking we were going to go big with an addition to our bedroom to include a bathroom. Blue Sea helped us find and architect and negotiate the permitting process, but it turned out it wouldn't work out in the short time frame we had. Blue Sea did us one better and helped us reconfigure the closets and bedroom space perfectly, as well as doing some finishing work to our basement to maximize our space. They do careful, beautiful work. We didn't get what we thought we wanted, but we got what we needed, which, for us, was even better! Also - the Blue Sea team was great with our dog. I think she was genuinely sad when Blue Sea when the project was over.

Professional group who cares for your home as its their own. We had a second floor addition and back extension addition of a family room and we are very happy with the way it turned out. They did great work and were easy to communicate with.
