Ultra-Unit Architectural Architectural Studio is a boutique, leading edge Architectural - Design/Build firm. We focus on a small number of projects and pride ourselves on doing them very well. We develop a collaborative relationship with our clients, use advanced construction technologies, and do architecture in the manner that it was done historically - as Master-Craftsman. This makes us “ultra” qualified because we not only Design at an award winning level, but we can also accurately assess construction related costs and implications. We are a small award winning premier Architectural firm that constructs what we design because we have found its the only way to assure the quality we demand in our projects. We are hands on. We create solutions through innovative problem solving, integrated construction services, and sometimes just thumping a nail into a piece of wood. Ultra-Unit Architectural Studio is team comprised of professionals in the office and extends to the engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors in the field. Our team shares a vision for creating the extraordinary... efficiently. Team leader Cameron Crockett AIA, LEED is both a California licensed contractor (#959011) and licensed architect (#31503) with over 25 years experience in single family residential, multifamily residential, commercial and retail, historic rehabilitation, structural analysis and repair for both remodels and new construction. Our office is in one of the former bakery warehouse buildings at 1327 Loma Avenue - near the corner of Redondo and Anaheim. We are as “local” as it gets - both my employees and I live right here in Long Beach.

I am a general contractor and met Cameron on a job in Cheviot Hills where he was the architect. The client knows exactly what they want and pushes to get their design through. Cameron has been VERY aggressive in helping realize the vision of the client while gently nudging him away from areas that will be a nightmare. It is rare to have an architect that thinks from a builder's perspective. He knows how to design for reality, not for paper, so when we have questions, he has answers. His plans are very detailed as well, so there are no surprises or change orders later, which makes everyone look better. Now, when I have clients that don't have an architect, I send them to Ultra Unit.

We have been working with Cameron on a project and have been very impressed with his enthusiasm, creativity and his patience as we go through the process. Having an older house, he's very conscious about remaining true to the original design while making it more user friendly for us. He's also happy to work within our budget, which was important to us. It's been a great experience and we thoroughly recommend Cameron and Ultra-Unit

We were very pleased with our experience with Ultra-Unit and Berenice. Berenice was very professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with. She not only provided us with excellent drawings for our home renovation, but she had great suggestions on how we could improve our space. We are now working on our 3rd project and each one we have used Ultra-Unit/Berenice. We updated a bathroom, kitchen/front of house, and Master bedroom/bath. The initial stages included an 'As-is drawing' that was completed exceptionally fast and accurately. Following those drawings were design comps and ultimately the plans for construction. Berenice listened closely to what we wanted and also provided suggestions on things we had over looked. So far our entire house has practically been updated and we love every inch. We have had no problems with the drawings, approvals by the city, etc. In addition, if our contractor had any questions, they were able to get answers in a quick and timely manner. I highly recommend them for any project whether residential or commercial.

We hired Cameron, Architect in January 2013 to help us transform one story home into a 2 story home. Cameron met us several times and spent several hours to discuss what we wanted, what we needed and what we can afford. We wanted so much and he worked with us to scale down to our budget and also ensured we got what we needed. We ended up with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bathrooms. It is important in the architectural drawing stage to get everything you want on paper to avoid having to change during the building process. I worked with his contractor Fernando Adame who started building for us in April 2013. Fernando is a very honest person who you need to have while working on a huge project. I am very thankful to have worked with someone as patient and knowledgable as him. He cares about his work and the crew he had with him were all very nice and trustworthy type of people. I couldn't have imagined working with someone else during our huge project.

I had a very small lot near the water with a deteriorating house on it in Connecticut. I had a terrible time trying to get plans approved through the local zoning board and after three years contacted Mr. Crockett out of desperation. I was amazed that he researched the zoning rules of the town, completely redid the plans for the house and, taking advantage of the rules actually designed a house with more footage than the one that the zoning board rejected. He interviewed the three construction companies I had chosen to bid on the house and recommended one which turned out to be excellent. The contractor and Mr. Crockett worked extremely well together and Cameron kept me informed and involved throughout the process.He actually flew in twice from California during critical moments in the construction process to make sure the plans were being adhered to and today the house is perceived as one of the best designed in my beach community. Mr. Crockett did an exceptional job under difficult circumstances and showed an empathy for the problems in designing a home in very restrictive circumstances.

Kommenteret: Blue paintthats a nice idea but to tell you the truth its the original cove ceiling that this room started with. I stopped the ceiling short in order to avoid a difficult detail in this area. But a gradation......
