Caracalla Design and Renovation

I got Phil and the team at Caracalla Design to repair and renovate the bathroom in my one bedroom apartment. He was really pleasant and professional to deal with, and is also very accommodating to requests. He gave advice when it came time to choosing fixtures, and designed the new bathroom keeping the space in mind so the room looks optically bigger than it actually is. He took care to look after the common areas and keep them clean and tidy. Overall very happy with his work and the final result.

Phil and his team did a fantastic job at renovating our bathroom. They made some great recommendations, were very responsive to any questions I had, and kept our place as well as the common property of unit block very tidy. Very happy with finished result!

We enquired with three other bathroom design and renovation companies before choosing Phillip and Caracalla Design. Phillip's quote for the renovation was better than the other companies and he provided all necessary documentation and certificates required for Strata. Anita, Phillip's designer was especially helpful and easy to communicate with when we chose the items, appliances and colours for the bathroom. All of the contractors used by Caracalla Design were punctual, professional and very personable. When the work was finished, the apartment was completely cleaned and left in excellent condition. We highly recommend Caracalla Design and Renovation for their costings, designs, experience, and completion of work. We are delighted with the new bathroom.

We renovated three bathrooms of our c1905 Federation Home, with Phil & his Team. Phil is great to deal with - he's a "Yes Man" were anything is possible, which is refreshing! He has great ideas, and can problem solve, which is important when you're working will an old home. Phil's team are all skilled, honest, clean & delightful. We cannot say enough to highly recommend Phillip Occhiuto of Caracalla Design. Phillip has far exceeded our expectations and has gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. His integrity is above reproach. Phillip was engaged to completely renovate our penthouse condominium in Potts Point. It involved the entire demolition and redesign of the kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry, three bedrooms, spacious living and dining room and multiple large and small balconies. He also managed the installation of ten new windows, heat and air conditioning. The renovation required the removal of three walls and the addition of one. This was a very large undertaking and has required months of design, approvals, demolition and build. Phillip always came to us with viable solutions when unexpected problems arose. He is very flexible when we changed our minds on prior agreed upon designs and helped us work toward a better solution. His quality of work is outstanding, and he won’t say something is done until it is perfect. The contractors he has used are also of very high caliber. We have been extremely pleased as to how he has been able to manage to the original budget and stay on schedule despite the restrictions and complexities that Covid created. His design skills are exceptional, and his recommended layouts have been far better than we could have imagined (bathrooms, laundry, kitchen and bedrooms). We would not hesitate to work with Phillip in any capacity again. This has been a very positive experience for us.

Caracalla Design was recommended to us by a friend who had several bathrooms renovated through them. We are glad we went with the recommendation as we needed to do all our bathrooms and choosing the right person was critical. Phil gave us good detailed design plans and a quote which was competitive. Despite giving the quote in May '21, and the work only beginning in Oct '21 (owing to delays with covid restrictions and lockdowns), he did not even suggest varying the quoted contract price (read a lot in the news of people being left high and dry by contractors who demanded a higher price after works had commenced, due to labour and material shortages). Phil's tradies were all very polite and excellent workers. Came on time and left the site neat and tidy daily. Issues which arose (as is expected in any large renovation project) were dealt with by Phil efficiently. Once the project commenced Phil made sure it went along full steam to have it finished in time, including finding alternative tradies to finish plumbing works when one of his tradies got covid. Even after completion of works, he got minor issues which arose fixed promptly. We are pleased with the end result and would be happy to engage Phil/Caracalla Design again should the need arise in future.

I found Phillip to be very helpful and all the tradesmen that worked on the job were very good a very friendly and always arrived on the job at the given time. I am very happy with the completed job.
