Established in 1987, Cowart Group is a full service architectural firm with numerous American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Historic Preservation awards and over 600 commissions. We practice sustainable design and site specific work, including land planning and interior design, and provide clients with an integrated practice experience, including three phases: design, construction document production and continuing support through construction. We sense the key elements that are unique to each client. We recognize early in the architectural design process how significantly the interior of the home affects the overall design. Attention to details, helping establish a budget and planning each phase of the design helps us achieve a level of trust with you that leads to satisfaction. We work hard to define individual design needs and mesh them with the unique qualities of your property. It is our goal to be sensitive to our environment. We pride ourselves on our environmental ethics and practices. "Sustainable Design" is concerned with the ecological, economic, ethical and social aspects of design and its long-term impacts on our lives. We are certified as Leaders in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED Accredited Professionals).

Gerry Cowart and the Cowart Group helped us with a major renovation to our home. He was great at figuring out what we needed and working with the lot limitations we had. He helped us through all the hurdles we had to go through to receive approval for the project to proceed. He was always available and willing to help with problems that arose during the construction process. We found him knowledgable, helpful and willing to listen to our concerns and needs. He readily supplied drawings and insights to the various contractors working on the project. We are very pleased with the way the renovation turned out. We would highly recommend him for any construction project.

We used Gerry Cowart to design our vacation home in Bluffton, SC. He was easy to work with. He took the time needed with us to insure that our thoughts and ideas were incorporated into the architectural plans and really worked with us to create what we wanted. Gerry stayed on top of our project from the beginning our project until its completion. It's been over 10 years since construction of our home was completed, and we still appreciate and enjoy the wonderful feeling, style and comfort of the home that Gerry designed for us.

Architectural services for tabby driveway, boat shed, cement pad, tree removal & glassed in porch. Gerry worked wonders with our ARB & got us approved the first time. All our paperwork was in proper order & Gerry handled everything for us! He produced very professional & accurate drawings for our projects. Highly recommended!

Gerry is a first-round draft pick on any all-star team I'd ever put together. I bought a house that was designed by the Cowart Group nearly 18 years ago.The master bedroom and bath where due for an update so I decided to find the original architect. I called Cowart Group and Gerry was kind enough to work me in almost immediately (even though he was leaving on vacation in just a few days). Gerry actually remembered my house. We met and he worked to get me a perfect draft in just a few days. The project flew though our community's architectural review board for approval and just a month later I am finalizing the contract with my builder. Thank you Gerry and the Cowart Group. My house should be now be good for another 18 years!

Gerry designed our house on a deep water creek. We now have the pleasure of sitting on our dock and listening as just about everyday we hear folks passing by in their boats exclaim "Oh look at that house I love it!"Our house fits it's space and place perfectly and is exactly what we wanted. Gerry and his staff "got us" and articulated and improved our vision, designing a wonderful home for us.

We are remodeling a home 1500 miles from where we live and needed a local architect. Gerry followed up on our initial phone call and was always available when we came to town. Gerry brings experience and a vast knowledge of architecture to our meetings. He is familiar with local contractors and suppliers. We highly recommend Cowart Group Architects.

Working with Gerry was great. He quickly grasped our vision and brought it to life in the plan in 2001. Construction was delayed in selecting a builder, and we finally proceeded after he introduced us to a builder whom we liked very much and who remains a friend as he lives in the neighborhood. We have lived here since 2003 and continue to regularly get compliments from passers-by and guests. Gerry later worked with us when we wanted to add some additional interior architectural detail. The spaces are well proportioned for us with room arrangements that continue to work well.

Gerry was extremely helpful through our entire project. After our first meeting, he had a comfortable sense of what we wanted, and how he would go about accomplishing it. From that point on he took control and guided us professionally every step of the way. His specialty is the design, but he knows construction, cost, material, and local builders. I appreciate the opportunity to “review” the Cowart Group and Gerry Cowart in particular. Gerry has worked for us on a myriad of projects. From small house design for innovative neighborhood infill, to historic home renovation, design and renovation of two restaurants and a music venue club, a 36 unit loft apartment as well as a complete midtown neighborhood master plan. which included approximately 20 contiguous commercial and residential properties. I have worked with many architects in my career, and in my opinion, he is the finest at what he does. He seems to possess an inner sense of quality and beauty balanced with efficiency that he is able to articulate in his drawings. I am a landscape designer and have worked with Gerry on many projects. He is extremely passionate about what he does and if I were to build a home I would definitely consider hiring him. Gerry is excellent at looking at projects in totality - not only the design of the home but how it seamlessly blends with the landscape architecture.

Hello All I just met the most incrediable wonderful architect for my project. I hope I am able to use him. Up date: I hired Mr. Cowart and I am extremely pleased with his service. He is personal and very easy to work with. What I like most about him is that he takes pride in the process of creating something new that his customer likes and thoroughly enjoys doing it. He is able to visualize the broad or bigger picture down to the minutest details. He is able to communicate that picture to you and visually through his drawings as he explains every detail. He works well with your contractor. Because he has such vast amazing background he is able to bring to the table many excellent ideas from aesthetics to practicality. Kommenteret: Could you tell me the rough dimensions of the building -The foot print with out the porches is 12'x26'. The wall height of the living space is about 12' high. The kitchen and bath shed off the back has only an 8' ceiling. Hope this helps.
