Stunning high-end ranch home located outside Johnson City, Texas. Daniel was very helpful to coordinate the build process and address all of our budget needs during the trying covid time and supply chain issues that came along with it. He is currently designing a house for some of our neighbors which is also a Modern Ranch Retreat design and layout.

Clean lines and Scandinavian design is architectural style we envisioned our home being. We did have a little bit of pushback from the HOA as we did not conform with the other Hill Country Farmhouse and Faux Mediterranean designs in the community. In the end the issue was very easily satisfied and we were impressed with Daniel's ability to develop a cohesive design that satisfied the neighbors as well as our more progressive taste.

Daniel designed our home on Canyon Lake and it is truly a masterpiece. The view of the lake is framed as you approach the entrance to our home from the circle drive. It is a little bit surreal for us and our guests to see the view of the magnificent turquoise waters that is framed between the garage/guestsuite and the main house. Our vision was perfectly captured and we highly recommend Daniel and his process.

We have lived in our home for a year and a half now, I meant to write this review sooner but the upside to the delay is that we now truly appreciate and understand how well our home is designed. From the initial meeting at the site that was complimentary we knew that we were in good hands with Daniel. The entire process was a positive experience from the initial budgeting stages, to the many rounds of layouts that we looked at, to floor plans, renderings, construction documents, and then finding the perfect contractor to work with. Daniel was attentive and inventive working with our ideas to make the project magical. Daniel stayed with us through the completion of the home and the critical interior design. The indoor spaces flow connectively and instinctively into the outdoor spaces. Our family couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!

We worked with Daniel Boardman Residential Design to design our home on Lake Travis. Our home is a very impressive blend of architecture and landscape. The thing that we love the most about the home is how the view of Lake Travis is pulled into every room and the natural lighting provided by the clerestory windows. Daniel took every advantage our site offered by creating a multi-tiered deck that connects to our pool and an outdoor entertaining area that overlooks the lake. Our children have had an amazing experience during the Covid-19 pandemic since we work from home. The outdoor entertaining area overlooking the lake allows them to have a wonderful space to enjoy and take breaks from the house. Thank you for your hard work Daniel our family truly appreciates it!

Daniel designed our home in Lakeway, Texas. The process was simple and very collaborative. Daniel outlined the budget from the beginning and was right on target. The home is perfectly fit to the site with amazing natural lighting. We have a friend that is a commercial interior designer in Santa Monica California. She visited a couple weeks ago and was also very impressed with the layout, flow, coordination of the interior materials, and the connection to the outdoor space. Lakeway is a little bit tricky to get permits in with so much regulation but we were very impressed with Daniel's experience in dealing with the City of Lakeway and the drawings were approved on the first submittal. We couldn't be happier!

Me and my husband bought a lot to design our dream home about 18 months ago. We have several friends that designed custom homes in the Austin area in the past several years. They had warned us that it could be a bit of a challenge at times to get permits and specifically if you were on Lake Travis dealing with LCRA to get the septic permits. We called and talked to several architecture firms to try to get a feel for their services and fees. The fees that we received were anywhere from 4% of 10% of the construction cost to hire an architecture firm. Our construction cost for our architectural taste and our desired quality of construction was around $1,000,000. This would mean the architecture companies we talked to wanted around $40,000 all the way up to $100,000 for the entire architecture process. Thankfully we found Daniel Boardman Residential Design. Daniel only charged us 2.5% of the construction costs. His process was very efficient and customer-friendly. He provided us a very detailed site plan and coordinated his work with the septic engineer to satisfy the requirements LCRA needed to help us build the project. His construction document set was highly detailed and better than the construction documents set that our friends had received from competing Architects. Our friends also paid considerably more. We are very happy to have completed construction and the general contractor that Daniel coordinated to build the project was also very impressed with the design and the detailing of the drawings. I can't say enough good things. If you're looking for a good Architect Daniel will go above and beyond your expectations!

My wife and I own a unique and special home designed by Daniel Boardman. From the initial sketches Daniel’s conceptual design focused on blending our home seamlessly with our challenging Hill Country site. He listened carefully to what we wanted and the styles we liked. He impressively incorporating our tastes and needs. Our dream home is truly a reflection of our connection with nature. It is thoughtful, beautiful, practical, and easy to maintain. Its placement in the landscape takes full advantage of the site and Hill Country views as well as the orientation to the sun angles. The design of the roof creates extended overhangs that allow for framed views and impressive natural lighting. There is a perfect connection between the inside and the stunning landscape beyond. The construction specifications were very detailed and Daniel gave thorough attention to construction considerations throughout the design process. Daniel Boardman’s Architectural process is the best combination of vision, collaboration, and detail I have seen in 3 projects.

We hired Daniel Boardman to design our custom home in Westlake Hills outside of Austin. My company recently opened an office in Austin so I was required to relocate quickly. Time was of the essence because I really wanted to get settled here in Austin with my wife Sally so we could make this our new home. We were very impressed with how quickly Daniel was able to put together plans for our custom home. The permitting process was smooth and we just moved in. There are many selections to make in the process of construction and we're happy that Daniel was there with a great attitude every step of the way to guide us. We are also very happy that the numbers we targeted in the beginning were achieved. The design that Daniel put together is worthy of accolade. My husband and I bought a pretty decent size property in Dripping Springs, about 20 miles outside of Austin Texas. We had been planning our dream home for several years and really wanted to maximize the potential of this somewhat expensive property. We really like to entertain and are looking forward to enjoying the home with our grandkids in the years to come. This will definitely be our forever home. We had designed a semi-custom home in the past, but this time around we wanted a completely custom design that would maximize the potential of the property and allow us to fulfill our future lifestyle with the ones we love. After interviewing several architects we decided to hire Daniel Boardman. Daniel is exceptional. His vision for our custom home designed specifically for our site and lifestyle was apparent from the beginning. He really cares about his clients and the fulfillment of their vision is his primary concern. The drawings that he produced were very thorough with building sections, wall sections, a highly detailed electrical plan and site plan. The plans and elevations were also highly detailed and the builder was very impressed with the level of detail Daniel was able to put into the drawings and how accurate all the drawings were. In a custom home budget is always a concern and he was able to outline that in the very first step of the project. The numbers were very accurate from the beginning and we were able to build a project on budget. He connected us with a builder that also gave us an amazing value and was the lowest price with one of the best reputations in Austin. This alone saved this thousands of dollars. You are in very good hands with Daniel. He made the process fun and his creativity and diligence are worth bragging about. We definitely recommend him to our friends and family!

5 stars for a reason! Daniel has an approach that I believe people will find very rare and refreshing these days. He is very giving of his time, knowledge, and is the most collaborative of the 3 Architects we have used on the 2 other custom homes we have built. As an example, even before we signed a contract he made multiple site visits to give us his friendly professional insight about several lots we were considering before we selected the property we ultimately purchased. He was extremely accommodating and friendly throughout the entire process. Collaboration is his priority from the beginning and he made it very convenient through the use of screen share as we designed the home together. We were able to have the majority of our meetings in the evenings after we got off work and we even did a screen share to collaborate on our laptop while we were out of town visiting family. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about both the architectural and contractual aspects of building, but he seems to have a great instinct for what the client is looking achieve. He also had the desire to study alternatives and create several layouts that might make the most sense for the lifestyle we described. Our house is amazing and we would definitely recommend him to our friends.

The best decision I ever made! Daniel was completely professional from the moment we first met at our building site. He was patient & understanding even when my wife and I had a lot of questions about green building & modern construction techniques. He was very thorough in explaining the design and building process and he diligently continued working things out until we finally had what we wanted, and he did it all for a fair price! Daniel is very down to earth, friendly, and easy to talk to. Some other architects I interviewed were very pretentious and didn't communicate well with my wife and I. Daniel was just the opposite and we feel that we couldn't have done better. I would recommend Daniel to anyone looking for an honest, reputable architect for their building project.

Daniel is an excellent, knowledgeable, patient and sincere communicator - sensitive to his client's needs and to the constraints imposed by the land, the existing dwelling and budget considerations. Ours was a remodel project. These constraints mentioned made the problem quite challenging. Daniel appropriately divided up the project into 2 phases with the first construction phase in progress now. Our discussions with Daniel have provided us the necessary perspective and detail to enable us to confidently proceed. My wife and I bought 5 acres of land in order to build our dream house. We interviewed several Architects before selecting Daniel, and we are very happy we chose him. We wanted something different from the typical suburban production house that we had in Circle C Ranch. The design process with Daniel was fun and exciting as we figured out the how to best fit our home to the sloping land. We designed a home that specifically met our site and design goals. Daniel is very creative, really thinks out of the box, but is also conscious of figuring out the most cost efficient way to get what he is looking for and still maintain the integrity of the design. He was very receptive to our ideas and had positive input and information to help us design an addition to our home. It was a complicated design equation because we had to incorporate ADA livability. His lateral thinking made our ideas for these challenges even better. Can't thank him enough for his professionalism and friendly disposition.
