The team is great—they're responsive, they're flexible, and they go above and beyond to make sure their clients are happy. Their designs are comprehensive and thorough, and I have greatly enjoyed working with them. Even after our build was completed, they continue to provide support—we've been able to reach out to them with questions or if there's anything we need help with, and they always respond quickly.

Davey was the architect on an addition project on my home that is just about to be completed. I found him to be very easy to work with every step of the process, and I am very happy with the results.

We hired Davey to look over our plans and help fix mistakes that our previous designer had messed up. He was quick to respond, paid close attention to details and helped us design a home addition that we love!

As general contractors, we are currently building the E 9th home featured on Davey's website. I absolutely love the elevation he developed that fits perfectly in the ever-changing Central E. Austin neighborhoods. What I like best is that his vision for this home, while very modern, is unique. You just won't see anything like it! I believe it's a clear demonstration of his creative spirit. Davey happily allowed me to collaborate with him on the interior plan. I have very definite ideas about what I want, which can be very difficult for architects. He was just awesome throughout the process. I think I only saw him flinch once! I believe we ended up with an outstanding plan, capturing the beautiful views the lot affords in a multitude of ways. It really means a lot to me to work with someone with such an outstanding attitude, and willingness to collaborate. What a great experience! Also of note is his attention to codes and ensuring that the project will go through permitting the first time. Often interpretation of the codes is quite mysterious. Davey doesn't take anything for granted, and will go down to the City to make sure that he is getting it right from their point of view. I hired Davey McEathron for the design services for a screened-in porch and carport addition to the side of my house. From the get-go he was very receptive to my ideas and clearly intended to mix my vision with his ideas and expertise to develop an ideal design. In our discussions he was very engaged with the existing elements (such as materials, local space, and style) and used them to build up from a conceptual blank slate. I never felt he was pushing me towards some preconceived style to plaster onto my house, which I was worried about when I started searching for an architect. In the end it all came together into a lovely little rustic porch that really fit the style and personality of my house. He was also very communicative and easy to work with during the design phase, kept me informed on how things were progressing, and blazed through the permitting process. Overall it was great working with him and he brought some really wonderful ideas to my project that will make a delightful space and a great looking addition to the house.

Davey helped me with my garage conversion project. He went out of his way to make sure that I got the permits I needed using his connections with the city's development office. He pulled the permits for me and saved me a ton of time and headache. Davey took a lot of care with the budget on the project and I know he performed the job for for less than someone else might have charged. Especially when you consider that I never had to set foot in the permit office. Davey always produced high quality custom plans using local materials, it was really exciting to work with him and see my idea take shape on paper. I recommend Davey to all my friends and family, and continue to call on his expertise and services whenever I have a need. Highly recommended.

I chose Davey McEathron Architecture (DMA) from a narrowed-down list of 5 other architects and design-build firms for a partial remodel, extension, and addition on a home built in 1943. DMA exceeded all expectations I had in working with an architect. From conceptual discussions through detailed planning and decisions regarding the finishing touches, Davey seemed to invest a personal stake in the project that took the final product to an unexpected level. I (thought I) knew what I wanted, and (believed I) needed an architect only to help resolve door placement and one transition area. During our discussions, I relayed the need to make my home more functional due to medical constraints. He showed me the draft/high level plan based on my view: what I wanted. Then he showed me an alternative, one we hadn't discussed. His design not only met my needs but also was all of those things I didn't know I wanted and was beyond what I had or could have imagined....all in the same price range as my original plan. Throughout the build process, Davey worked not only closely with but also very effectively and remarkably efficiently with the contractor. From a homeowner’s perspective, it was a dream project end to end. To say that Davey McEathron's vision has improved the quality of my life immeasurably is no understatement. He accomplished that feat by being very skilled at his profession and then by going the extra step and understanding the needs that were driving me to undertake a remodel and addition. Considering Davey McEathron's architectural adeptness and his artistic approach with the heart he applies to his profession, I cannot recommend his firm or his skills highly enough.

I'm so happy we found Davey McEathron Architecture for our whole house remodel. My husband and I have never done any kind of professional remodel before and we had no idea how to start. We only had vague ideas about what we wanted our home to be. Davey sat down with us on many occasions and walked us through the big decisions and the decisions we didn't even know we needed to make. He took the time to ask questions about our lifestyle and how we use our house. We shared Houzz Ideabooks, looked through hundreds of pictures, samples, and drawings, and discussed a lot of ideas. I was really impressed with Davey's ability to navigate the sometimes conflicting style choices of my husband and me. Davey also came up with some really creative solutions to challenges with our 2300sq ft 1964 ranch house that has had multiple past additions. We went through multiple rounds of revisions on the final plan, and I'm so pleased with the outcome. Ultimately we decided to open up the living areas, combine our master bed and an office to create a big master en suite, and - here's the thing I'm most excited about - put the laundry in the big master closet for max functional win. No more schlepping clothes back and forth to the garage! We started construction two weeks ago and expect it to be finished in about 9 months. Even though the "design" phase of the project is done, Davey makes himself available to us for consultation and advice. Davey and our contractor have a great relationship, which makes it really easy on us. I can tell he's really invested in the success of the remodel, and we couldn't be happier with his work and involvement.
